Core vaccines are the ones that are needed, unless not in the best interest of the dog. Dr Dodds' protocol is minimalist. The AAHA guidelines are more middle of the road, and one that my vets and I follow. Here is the link for more info on core and noncore. http://www.aahanet.org/publicdocumen...s06revised.pdf As for corona vaccine, it's not even recommended for shelter dogs. You need a vet who is more up to date so glad you like the new one. |
BTW, only rabies is required by law and vary by state and local laws. Everything else should be done based on what your vet and you agree to. |
Thanks Cathy!!!! I'll look it over and see what the vet says :D So glad to be more educated!!! |

I am curious as to why a vet would not do blood work? Size should really make no difference. It is always the best measurement we can get of how our pups really are doing. Glad she is doing better! :) |
Glad to hear Bambi is doing so much better. |

As for the shots, I guess its just like everything...one has to do research and pick which they agree with because some really like AAHA and others say Dr. Dodds. Thanks everyone |

She's doing so much better now! Ate three times and is drinking. She's running around the living room barking and running after the other dogs. It's amazing how quickly she rebounded! |
Just a tummy upset like I said :) But better to be safe than sorry. Glad your a worry wart mommy too!!! :p |
Exactly you have to do what you're comfortable with. I'm glad Bambi is felling better! |
Just saw this...what a scare! Glad to hear Bambi is keeping things down and doing much better. Praying she is on the road to recovery and will be back to her happy/well self soon. Zhoie sends Bambi some kissies |
Thanks everyone!!! She's doing wonderfully! I'm just amazed at how well she is now! LoL Breny it's why you trusted me with her right lol |
So glad she is better! :) |
Glad she's feeling better... you could always print out Dr Dodds' vaccine schedule and take it with you to discuss with your vet... with her being small I think I'd lean towards Dr Dodds' schedule, esp waiting 4 weeks between vaccines. |
