Teddy's eye update Wow the eye heals fast when treated properly! Teddy was wide eyed and very active this morning. I think he is feeling better. I checked his eye and I see the little tiny vessels that my vet told me would be a good sign of healing. My vet will check him tomorrow to make sure things look good, but so far, I think Teddy is on the road to recovery. Barney is another story - his urine has a very foul odor so that will make 4 visits to the vet in total this week. I feel like LadyJane.:p |
I am very happy to hear that Teddy and his eyes are doing well today. :) Mr. Barney wanted in on some of this vet action too? Sending prayers that he will be okay too. |
Poor Teddy. That is scary. Anything involving the eyes scares me. I am glad to hear he is better today. |

I recently had a corneal abrasion and I cannot stress how painful that is! It is the worst thing I've had to experience yet. I can't even imagine a dog going through that pain without him being able to express himself! My heart and prayers go out to Teddy! Hope he gets better sooN! |
Poor Teddy :(! I'm glad to see he is already on the mend. Isn't it crazy how fast the eye can heal? Maybe bc it is so vascular? Who knows. I've had a corneal abrasion in both eyes at the same pain...just excruciating! Had both eyes closed for 2 days, not fun. |

His eyes do seem to look and feel better, he wanted to play and such today rather than park it on his Cloud 9 bed like a lump. |

On a serious note: I am glad you got him in quickly Cathy. Those things "blossom" quickly and become ulcerated. I have had pups develop ulcers overnight...no warning signs at all. And, if you don't treat them quickly, they often lose their eyesight. I never play with eyes.....straight to the vet with any eye symptoms. |
Just saw that Teddy had a big bad owie...hope Teddy is feeling better! I have to agree with everyone who's mentioned how God awful the pain is to corneal abrasions. My BFF had the unfortunate experience of one when she accidentally swiped an envelope flap across her eye...yep, "paper cut" to the cornea! Dogs amaze me just as kids do...they handle pain so much better than adults!;) Hugs to Teddy & a lick from his old sweetheart, Bella:aimeeyorkBoo! |
I wish I would have come across this thread sooner...now I completely understand why you were telling me to fly to the vet. Thank you so much for taking the time to give me some advice Cathy, I really appreciate it. I'm really happy your Teddy is doing better...I'll be keeping track of Barney Hugs, Rose |
