| ![]() Kaos is walking around the house panting a bit (something he NEVER does), and is pretty warm to the touch. I wanted to take his temp but I don't really know how. ![]()

| ![]() The vet does it rectally. I know that is not what you really want to hear. But I am not sure how to give you specifics. I know I was told to feel the inside of their ear to tell if it was warm or not the last time Rosie was sick. I compared it to Mikki's which will be hard for you to do. Poor guy. I hope Kaos gets to feeling better.

That's normally what I do. His inside of his ears/toungue and paws are warmer than usual. He's eating/drinking normally though. Maybe he just fell asleep in a sunny spot too long. ![]() ![]()

| ![]() I have a thermometer and take Tibbe's rectally. I insert about 1 1/2" and leave 3 minutes or so.

I took his temp he is only 100.5. He has stopped panting and I think he cooled down. Ears/toungue and pads have cooled down. He is bringing me all of his toys now. I had fallen asleep, and I think while I was asleep he was just napping in the sun... And mommy overreacted. ![]()

| ![]() That's totally normal for a Yorkie. That's the lower end of what's considered normal, so Kaos must have just enjoyed himself in the sun. If he has stopped panting and acting normally, there shouldn't be any reason for concern. I dealt with issues relating to panting with my babies who had trouble breathing, but sometimes it really was just them sitting in a warm, sun-filled spot in our house. |

| ![]() Please don't worry about overreacting. You love your little boy and want to do what's best for him. You have also learned some things for the future if you ever worry that he has a fever. Just enjoy your sweet little baby as you always do. |

| ![]() Sounds like all is fine. If it keeps happening, he would need to see the vet because both panting and hot skin are signs of pain. He probably just took a sunbath. ![]()

| ![]() Gizmo sun bathes. And with the dark coat he's sooo warm to the touch. I'm glad your little man is okay!

| ![]() I see Kacee soaking in the sun all of the time and then she is always so hot afterward. I imagine that is what happened with Kaos.
