Senior Yorkie Talker | Prayers for Lexi Lexi was admitted into the animal clinic last night for vomiting. She obviously had an upset stomach and was experiencing some discomfort. I called the vet last night and they checked her stomach and gave her a shot to ease the vomiting. They kept her in for observation. The vet called me this morning and advised that she had vomited a few times last night and this morning while they had her so they will be doing blood test and Xray. She hasn't called me for the results yet and I am so nervous anxious, sad, emotion just waiting to hear the diagnostic. I hope there is nothing seriously wrong with her and its just something she ate that she wasn't supposed to. I keep a close watch on her when she is outside using potty but she is so quick and she loves chewing on rocks and grass. The vet said maybe she ingested something. Please pray for my baby. I just want her to be back in great health. Thanks!

Senior Yorkie Talker | Thank you all for your prayers! Vet called me and advised that Lexi has Gastritis and Pancreatitis. She will remain at clinic for one more night under observation. Once she is home she will have to be on a strict diet. Right now Lexi is eating Taste of the Wild and she sometimes eats cooked brown rice, vegetables and fruits from my plate. I dont give her any meat from my plate. The advised that they will give me recipes for homemade foods and they also recommended Royal Canin for Yorkies, as she stated that pancreatitis is very common in yorkies. She will also be on some meds to aid with the pancreatitis and from now on will be on a strict diet. I know Royal Canin does not have the greatest reviews but I will try her on it. She'll eat the Taste of the Wild but she is not crazy about it either. I am praying for her speedy recovery and future health!

Senior Yorkie Talker | Thank you all for your prayers and support! I am so appreciative. Lexi was released from clinic this morning. What a reunion we had! She was so happy and back to her normal self. She kissed me, buried her head in my shoulder and when we got home she took a deep inhale and proceeded to bury her head in her bed, as to say "aah I'm home!" The vet told me they fell in love with her while she was there. She didnt eat for the two nights she was there. She ate her first meal (ID) this morning before I picked her up. I purchased a few cans of that and also purchased Royal Canin Mini Special 30, which was also recommended by the vet. They also sent her home with the med Famotidine which she is to take for 7 days and then revisit the clinic for a checkup and blood work. I am so relieved, I really missed her! Although I loved her so much before she got sick, I love her even more now and I think she feels the same way. God bless her lil' heart
