well keeper is feeling a bit better tonight they gave us some meds today for fluid build up ,some pain meds and in the morning they are going to bump up our appointment .we will be going in for more meds in the morning and im really keeping my eyes on him ,its all i can think about the more i learn the more it scares me to think about how much pain he really is in .but for today he is a lot better and we have had a very snuggled up day he is so cute when he snuggles in and lets out a heavy sigh and gos to sleep .he has had no more out busts today so i think the pain meds are doing there job . thank you all for your support and your careing thoughts .i just feel like im neglecting my other babys as we have had no long walks and snuggle time has been cut short but they are all healthy and well .i will up date when i can |
I hope tomorrow will bring some hope for you. As for your other babies & their walks, maybe you could get a side sack too carry him in so you could walk the others. My prayers are with you all & I'll be waiting for some good news tomorrow. |

Awww, he's a QT I could be wrong but I'm betting he has a Chiari malformation. Does he ever seem to be trying to scratch at his neck or ear but not really making contact ? |
How is keeper today ? |
Keeper is so adorable and feisty. Sending prayers for keeper. I hope his pain lessens and he gets to live a good life with his loving mom and dad. best wishes. |

well its been a rough couple of days just got home from vancouver where we went for a second neuro appointment and it is not Hyrrocrphalus they ran all new blood and bile tests and all were good this vet Dr nick sharp of the canada west clinic looked over all his symtoms and said its something in his neck we will give him something to really relax him and will do a couple exrays before another MRI .so after 7 hrs i was still a waiting his return the vet called me and said well it still isnt the best news but he has Atlantoaxial Subluxation and started to explain it and said that we have to options frist is a neck splint for 2 weeks and look at him again ,and then decide if surgery is an option .i was happy but still very afraid for Keeper as it can still result in sudden death .so we arrived home very late last night and he is on complete cage rest :( he is up only to be cuddled and fed and watered and to do his business ) He is getting a lot of very quiet cuddle time .im going to post again to see if anyone else out there has incountered this Roo Bear Yorkies & Biewers- home for Biewer Yorkshire a la Pom Pon and Yorkshire Terriers - ATLANTO AXIAL INSTABILITY - Cached - Similar |
Oh my, I will be praying for little Keeper to have a safe & speedy recovery. There are others here on YT whose babies have had this terrible condition & made a full recovery. Treat him like a China Doll & keep him crated . Be strong & be careful. I feel he has a better chance with AAI then Chiari as he can heal. With Chiari there is only treatment for these little ones. |
Glad to hear Keeper got to a dr who got to the bottom of what is going on. We wil continue to pray for little Keeper. |
