Yorkie giving birth No vet Anyone know what to do for my liitle lady? She is trying to give birth to her second baby the first was born dead. Its been 8 hours and she is in awful pain. No travel advised bad blizzard. Suspect the baby it to big or turned wrong. Not sure what to do. |
I am linking this to the breeder's section (may have to go there for responses), but even if they are online, this is an emergency and there isn't much they can say or do from where they are that will help your girl. I'm very sorry. |
On my way to vet. Need prayers! |
I'm praying for you guys (((((hugs)))))) |

Prayers for momma and the little one |
Was checking back, hoping for an update. This poor baby...I can't imagine what she has went through. Prayers still going to get her through this delivery. |
Gracie is home! She had her second pup by c-section and it was dead. The vet was so very kind. The first pup was the problem and kept blood and oxygen from the second pup. Gracie was also fixed so no more puppies. That was what we were considering any how. Gracie is still sleeping from the anesthesia but should be fine. I hope she does not miss her babies when she wakes up. Long night and day. Thanks everyone for your prayers! |
Thank God you girl made it through. I'm sorry about the loss of her puppies. Give her extra love and kisses from me & Zhoie. |
I'm sorry the pups didn't make it, that is so sad. Such a relief though to know Gracie is going to be okay, I was really worried about her getting through this. Thankfully you made it to a vet in time. I heard yesterday ND was experiencing this blizzard and felt for you all....crazy spring weather. |

I'm so happy your Gracie is alright. I'm also sorry the babies didn't survive. :( I remember when I was a kid, my aunts labs would have puppies and there were times when one was born dead. My aunt could sometimes revive it back to life. Other times she couldn't and we'd bury it. :( |
I am so sorry to hear about the puppies... It is good that Gracie made it through though! I'm glad to hear you had her spayed. She should not have to go through that again. |
So heartbreaking and a vivid reminder to those that chose to breed. What a great risk one must take. I am so happy your girl is ok. Praying for a speedy recovery. Sad about the babies. Rip little angels. |
A warning to all thinking about breeding its not all soft and cuddly warm puppie noses. Its costly and as breeders will tell you your home has to be adapted to them. So is ones time. Gracie is up and running around. I can tell she is in some pain. Because it was a ER visit and the vet took the risk to drive in our dear vet had no one to help him in surgery. My hubby and I had to be in surgery with Grace to help with the pups. Our very first c-section. Its not a quick procedure to spay or do a c-section. I never realised the time and worked involved with putting them under. This vet has been great. He rushed in to help a pup choking on a tiny tiny piece of chicken she got in her windpipe. He has been super. He is leaving next week so he will be missed. It will be nice to enjoy Gracie without the concern of puppies. Thanks again everyone! |
