I sure hope it is false pregnancy! |
I hope you were able to get to the vets today. Will check back for an update. |
Hi again, I just seen where on 3/30 you posted about your little girl going into her first heat. If she just went into heat when you posted that then it has only been about 19 days and she may still be in heat. My girl with her first heat did have swollen breasts and a big tummy toward the end of her 1st heat and I would have sworn that she was pregnant. We went to the vet and found out it was just part of the heat process with some. She has been spayed since she is little so there is still time to spay her even if there was a tie. Everyone here is just trying to help and you may not like what they have to say but I can honestly say I have seen the worst possible problems with a small girl being breed.....intentionally or by mistake. She is just too little to breed now or in the future. Yes there are people out there that do breed the little ones but how many of them have lost the dogs??? Hoping for the best!!! |
What would you consider helpful? Your options are: 1. Take her to the Vet, and get "professional advice and diagnosis"... 2. Wait it out, and possibly watch her die giving birth... |
IMO, she is too small to have puppies ever. You don't know who the sire is, so this makes it even more dangerous. I recommend a spay right away. Did you go to the vet today? Update? Poor little thing. :( |

I agree with the previous posters. This sounds all to familiar...Anyway, first of all, when you're dog went into her heat, you should have had a dog sitter come to your house or have trusted a family and/or friend to take care or her. IMO it's way too risky to leave that much responsibility with someone you don't personally know, and someone who potentially has other dogs around. But, since we can't turn back time, what's done is done and now it's time for you to do the right thing. I agree also with the other posters. 3lbs is way too tiny to breed a Yorkie. However, you need to get to the vet asap and pray that it's a false pregnancy. If it's not, try to terminate it and get the little girl spayed. Remember, inevitably, you are the most responsible person for your pets. So, whether you give the most detailed instructions in the world, people are human and remember it's not them that may risk the death of their fur baby or have to spend the money for countless vet visits, it's you. Keep us updated and good luck! |
