Glad Basil is doing better your in laws will get better day by day believe me. My house was robbed while I was living with my parents. The only difference was I wasn't home at the time. I came home to a big mess. I was all alone and I can't tell you how many nights I slept with the lights on and a knife by my side.

I don't know how I missed this, but it is just heartbreaking to read how cruel some people can be. My heart goes out to your family. I did comment about Basil on the other thread. Hope things turn around for you, Steve.

Police still have no real leads yet. Too bad as these guys need to be caught before they terrorize other people. Cowards to say the least. In Laws are getting by, and getting visits by their rather large family, and a lot of calls. Health wise, at 86, they have problems, and this event just made some of them worse. Fear is one hard disease to treat.

That makes me so sad. :( I just cannot understand what kind of mind makes people do such awful things to others.

I am just now finding this thread and reading it! Wow. There isn't a whole lot to add to what others have said but I do want you to know that I really care about what happens to you guys and hope everyone is feeling better soon. I can just imagine how hard it has been for you to control your rage. There simply isn't anywhere for it to go is there. It isn't easy to deal with the impotence one feels when helpless people and creatures are injured or abused. It just isn't right.

As far as our criminal justice system goes....I vote for walling up a major city like they did in that movie "Escape from New York." Just throw the sob's in and let them duke it out themselves. We don't feed them, we don't cloth them and we don't care what happens to them after they go in. We just care that the never get out. OR we let the big strong marines take care of them in any way they see fit. I have always believed that the victims of a crime or their family members should determine punishments.

I know I am rambling so I will stop now - hang in there and cuddle Basil for me.

Pretty much sums it up and I am sooo sorry your family has to deal with this unnecessary BS.:mad:

Fear is hard to battle and I imagine it is even worse when you're 86 and feel so much more vulnerable than when you're young. I hope they will be better.

Wow, I just saw this thread, and I am SO sorry for your inlaws, and little Basil! My grandmother walked in on a man in her home and he beat her bloody with the stock of her own shot gun. Thank GOD he didn't use the business end on her, but I will never forget that, and the guy was unbelievably brazen. Of course they never caught him, and he only made off with a cheap shotgun. I can't imagine how violated and completely shaken I would feel. I sure hope they recover emotionally as well as physically. :( I see your other thread about Basil, and luckily for him he is still a baby and I'm sure he will bounce back like a champ! Glad to see he is coming right along.

Thank you. The Bad guys have not been caught, which really gets me mad. Basil is coming along great, and can't wait for some freedom. When he is not heappy, no one is happy.

I'm sorry they haven't found them. Something may turn up soon. Basil will have his freedom soon and watch out then!:)

Wow, this is the first time I saw this thread, and I cannot believe the day you, your in laws and Basil had!! I would have been tempted to crawl in bed, pull the covers over my head and wait til morning - the next day has GOT to get better!! Are you in laws frightened to stay in their home since the crooks are still on the loose?
