Anakin is at the emergency vet...
 
I'm waiting in the waiting room while Anakin gets X-rays of his rear left leg. :/ he climbed an xpen and got it stuck at the very top. His rear left leg was just dangling. :/ I had to cut his leg free from the xpen. :( it looks like it cut off circulation but I felt a pulse. His foot was swollen and cold but I was able to warm it up and he can still feel it. I bought that xpen a few months ago cause it was suppose to be safer then the metal one. I hope he is okay :(

Om my goodness! Poor Anakin. I am soooooo sorry. I will say a prayer right now!!!! Bless his little heart. And yours too, I can only imagine how upset and scared you are. Stay calm...he is getting the help he needs. My heart just goes out to both of you.

I am so very sorry, I'll keep both you and Anakin in my thoughts and prayers. It seems like no matter how careful we are, the little ones will find a way to get hurt.

Oh, that is horrible. I am praying for little Anakin. Hoping the vet finds good pulses and intact nerves.

They wanted tO sedated him for X-rays but I begged them if they could do it without it I would be forever grateful. They were able to get X-rays that showed no break. The vet said we wont know the extent Of the injury til the swelling goes down... So he is on antibiotics and anti-inflammatory/pain meds. We will go back on Friday for a check up. Now I'm on a mission to find a cone of silence (medical cone) that is small enough. :/ anyone know anyone that sells them or can teach me a quick way to make one? Thank you everyone :)

Ohh Kimberly so sorry to hear about widdle Anankin! I really hope he'll be ok & his leg saved.

So glad you updated and so glad it isn't broke!! The orthopedic surgeon that Peyton is seeing said he will be sedated for the x ray he gets on the 30th. She said they can get much better ones done that way. It is a light sedation that they bring them out of easily. So, if they have to do that for Anakin, I'm sure he will be okay. But, either way, I am so sorry this happened. Thank God you were able to get him out right away and were able to get him to the ER so fast. Lots of hugs to you and Anakin!!!

That us so sweet of you to offer Jenny. :) Seems like it would be a good thing for all of us to have on hand in case of an emergency. I might be making an order soon.

I posted a review of an xpen a while back where the same thing almost happened to Teddy. I no longer trust these at all! Praying for Anakin.

Kimberly, I am so sorry to see this. You must be beside yourself. Hope Anakin feels better quickly.

I have soft cones in a tiny size that I can get out to you asap. I will pm you.

Kim....I just saw this and am happy to hear that his leg isn't broken. Thank goodness he still had a pulse in that leg and you were able to get him loose from the xpen. You were so smart to rush him right into the ER for xrays. Hopefully he meds he is on now will help with the pain and swelling and that will be the end of it.

Give Anakin a big kiss from Trixie.

We will keep him in our prayers for a speedy recovery.

Than you Jenny for your kind offer, Bo just happened to have Anakins size and we will get it set out tomorrow. :)

Update : anakin has been out of it all day, I've been trying to keep him quite so he can rest. He has had one dose of each medication and has tolerated it so far. His sister Bella is not to happy about being with out him but Anakin has been resting and keeps following me around (even more then usual)
I had to go by the store and when I came back he was running around finally putting weight on his rear leg... Which he hadn't been doing before. I am having someone watch him til I can get the collar to stop him from licking his leg. I am so happy he is using his leg and I hope he continues to get that leg stronger. :)
