| ![]() We had our second vet appt. on Thursday and Bentley is now addingi an antibiotic to his ivermectin treatments to help with the infection healing on top of the demodex killing. I'm noticing that he's not eating normal. He used to wolf down his food despite my easy slow down feeder bowls and now he kinda just sits there. I've put him in a kennel to eat away from Sadie the food stealer and he'll slowly crunch away at his meal and sometimes finish it all but he doesn't eat like he's that hungry and at first ignores his food. He used to do this when I first got him and had him on a demodex treatment plan. Kinda weird that he's doing that same strange behavior again. I keep praying we work through this and get this beat for good. Pray for him to heal fast and I just know he's miserable taking so many meds and it's affecting his mealtimes too. ![]() Also pray for Sadie to calm down. Anymore outbursts and she's going in for a thyroid pannel. She's been a bit aggressive lately towards Bentley and it's making me nervous about her ability to be around a baby if she's already this jeleous about a dog brother. |

| ![]() Poor Bentley. It is so sad when they chew themselves. Sending healing prayers for Bentley. Are you giving him any acidophilus to help with the balance of his stomach? I give Buster Jarrow Acidophilus every day just to keep everything regular and double the dose when he is on antibiotics. "Acidophilus can help protect the body against harmful bacteria, parasites, and other organisms. As it breaks down, it releases things such as hydrogen peroxide that create a toxic environment for unhealthy creatures in the body, helping to drive them out. It also plays an important role in digestion, helping to produce a number of chemicals which aid in the digestion process. Many alternative modalities of healing look to acidophilus for a wide range of health benefits. In addition to basic digestive assistance, acidophilus is thought to help bolster the immune system as a whole. It is also thought to provide some relief from intestinal problems, such as diarrhea.Because antibiotics kill the so-called probiotics, such as acidophilus, as well as harmful bacteria, many people feel that an antibiotic regime can lead to outbreaks of numerous problems, including yeast infections. It is recommended by many to take supplements of acidophilus"

| ![]() Poor Bentley. That poor guy has been through so much. Antibiotics can also cause an upset stomach so hopefully he'll feel better when his meds are finished. |
