someone please help! yorkie throwing up and shaking! My 8 months old yorkie is shaking and throwing up, this is the 3-4 time she throwing up today! Her throw up looks yellow and it has bubbles and small colorful dots in it sometimes. The only thing she ate was pasta and some pasta with some meat in it. it was a little oily, and she ate almost all of it ( it is really rare for her to eat all):( |
The only thing we can tell you is to take her to the vet if she is throwing up multiple times and shaking. If that continues, it can be dangerous for a small dog. How is she now? Is she eating and drinking and keeping food down? |
Pasta with meat -- what kind? The fat and spices can be very bad for a dog. I would go to my nearest emergency vet. Could be anything from a belly ache to pancreatitis. |
She is sick from the kind of food she is eating. Feeding those sort of human foods can lead to pancreatitis. My advice is to take her to the vet asap. Feed her proper food. If you are not sure what the proper food is for a yorkie, please research in our Health & Diet section of this forum. Please do take her to the vet asap. They can become dehydrated very quickly and that is a serious issue. |
Oh, I'm so sorry. Is she doing any better? I think you are getting good advice here. If she is not feeling better, I think you should consider a vet visit. Poor baby! :( My vet always tells me when they have upset tummies to give cooked brown rice with some browned up ground chicken. If she is feeling better you might want to try that as it is supposed to be easier on their system while she recovers. |
well when we first got her she ate normal dog food, but we had to leave and we didnt have time to find a hotel so we left her with her owner. We trust her owner because she is my moms freind and she is experienced. But they started to feed her human food and she got used to it. The vet said that it is ok to feed her human food, and in a book i read in my school library it said that it is ok to feed dogs with pasta Oh and ya she is doing a little better, but can i take her outside? she loves to run around. oh know she was about to vomit she started to make sounds and choke. Can it be that she ate grass or branches because when she does it sometimes happens, also this morning i was holding her and jumping around could it be that? |

Please take her to the vet. She is still throwing up and she will become dehydrated. Dehydration can lead to serious health issues, even death. |
Well now she isnt throwing up YAY!!!! but can i take her out? |
Dogs eat grass when their tummies are already upset. I forget if it induces vomiting or it settles their stomach, but either way they are eating it because THEY DO NOT FEEL GOOD. If your baby has been puking all day, and is still puking, you NEED to get the poor thing to the vet ASAP. These little ones can go poorly very quickly due to their small size. Dehydration and hypoglycemia are very real risks and if your pup hasn't been keeping anything down all day... I would be worried and on my way to the vet now. Feeding dogs human food is NOT good. You can home cook for them, but it is a delicate balance of nutrition to do it correctly to make sure they are getting the nutrients that they need. You cannot just feed them human food all willy nilly. If you want to home cook correctly, you need to research and talk to a dog nutritionist. Otherwise, feed your pup a good quality dog food. |
I'm in a really big rush so i cant take her to the vet but i am going to buy some good quality dog food, is Royal Canin good? |

... I stick by my original recommendation that if she's been puking all morning and was shaking that she should be checked out by a vet. Hypoglycemia and dehydration are not good things and puking is also a sign of poisoning depending on what was in that human food. JMO. |

acctualy i am not at home right now i am at the canadian center right now with my ipod |
Were there onions in the pasta because onions are toxic to yorkies. I agree she needs to see a vet right away. Are you young? If so can you show these posts to your Mom |
My 17-lb cavalier threw up repeatedly about 9 months ago, and was shaking. We took him to the emergency vet (!) and they said if we hadn't brought him in he would have probably died. And he's 17 LBS! It was acute pancreatitis and he spent 2 days in emergency care, costing me about $1500.00. It was a scary, touch and go situation, and we reacted immediately. If you are too busy to care for a small dog that is as sick as you say, then there is a problem in addition to the dog's illness. Please keep us posted. |
