It is always scary when your puppy is sick. You are not home, is someone with your pup? Either you or whoever is with the pup MUST take them to the vet. Please don't wait. It is always better to be safe than to be sorry. |

My Millie was like that a couple of months ago, shaking, lethargic, throwing up and diarrhea with blood in it, i came home from work to find her like it and took her straight to the vet who gave her some injections, some medicines, tablets and some re-hydrate powder pouches and said that if we left her any longer we could have lost her. apparantly it was some kind of virus she had picked up even though she had all her jabs and such up to date. small dogs can go up hill and down hill extremely fast so i wouldnt risk it! |
So, let me get this straight. You get on here and say your pup is sick, vomiting and shaking. You ask what to do. Everyone says to take her to a vet...and then you say you are not at home? Are you serious???? My advice: Take your butt home NOW and take her to the vet NOW. If you don't, you might find a dead yorkie when you do go home. :( |

She may have pancreatitis, but even if she doesn't, since she has vomited so much, she needs fluids under the skin or intraveneously. Drinking fluids or eating will probably make her vomit more until her stomach settles down. Dehydration is serious, and her electrolytes are probably very imbalanced. Our babies rely on us to take care of them and to protect them from harm. Your baby needs the medical expertise of a doctor. Once he rules out serious problems, the vet will be able to give your baby something to settle her stomach and replenish the fluids that she has lost. Since you are her mom, she needs you to take care of her and will feel better if you are there, but if you aren't available to take her, please ask someone else to do it for you. It is unbearable to cope with the loss of our babies, but I know if there was something I could have done to help my baby that I didn't do, I don't think I'd be able to live with myself. Please help your baby so that she can get better and have a full life. |
Multiple choice: Why are you ignoring the unanimous advice to take her to a vet? A. Are you making all of this up, trying to play a sick, juvenile joke on a discussion board for your own amusement? B. You don't really care enough about your possibly dieing dog to get it the help that it needs. C. You don't have the ability to comprehend the gravity of the situation. I hope the correct answer is A, and you are just having childish, cruel fun at our expense. If it is B or C, your dog is suffering due to your lack of compassion or intellect and you have no business having a dog. |
As everyone else has said, you need to take her to the ER vet NOW! Even though she hasn't vomited in a little while, she is probably dehydrated which leads to an electrolyte imbalance. Electrolyte imbalances are very dangerous and can cause cardiac arrest. She may also have pancreatitis from eating leftovers. That is also life threatening. Switching her food is a bad idea. If she has pancreatitis, she needs to rest her stomach completely. If you feed her, she may start vomiting again. Again, take her to a vet! |

Just because she has stopped throwing up for now and playing does not mean that your dog may not be quite ill. Your posts seems to cover only a short period of time when she went from acting quite ill to much better. Dogs often rally and act better when they are very ill so a quick trip to the Vet or Emergency Vet if the regular vet is closed is really the only way you can know your little dog is really okay. Please get her checked by a vet as soon as possible. |
Well by the way I am in Czech Republic and when this happened it was in the middle of the night and ya as i said before Canadian Center is like a small hospital because of my nose problems. I am 12 so i cant just tell my mom to take her to the vet, well it's closed |

Then get your mother involved in her dog's care and she will take over. If she will not do that, I can only hope your little dog is okay. |
