Poor little TJ! I hope everything goes well with surgery and he is back home with you in no time. Keeping you both in our prayers. |
My heart goes out to you and TJ as he goes through this surgery. He has a mom who loves him dearly and placing him in good hands with his surgeon. I hope TJ recovers quickly from the surgery and that you discover fully what is causing these stones. My thoughts and prayers are with you. |
Thank you everyone. I am sitting in the waiting just holding back my tears... The very moment he peed blood 2 months ago, I instantly jumped to this situation. I kept praying and tried to do everything I could for him. This very thing that happened, the stones becoming logged was my nightmare and now the day is here! This is frighten. But I am also glad that I am that "neurotic" pet owner and the instant something was off with TJ we raced to the ER What happened last night was he was franticlly trying to pooh, but nothing coming out. As he would run to the next spot and go into pooh position, little drops of pee were all over the floor. His red rocket kept popping out and his penis felt hard and enlarged AND I felt little bumps which my heart sank bc I just knew they were stones logged there! Love you guys! Thank you for the support - I am pretty humble right now |
I can totally relate to holding back the tears. You should just cry if you feel like it. Even diligent pet owners can find themselves at the ER vet and thank god you knew to race to the ER when you did. Lodged stones can be life threatening and need immediate attention. Hang in there, you're doing all you can for him. |
Prayers going out for TJ and his surgery. Poor little guy. |
Prays and hugs for TJ. Hope he is feeling better soon. And prayers to you too. I know how it is to be a mess when your little one is sick. Please let us know how he is. |
Praying little Tj has a safe and successful surgery. You are a great Mom for getting him treated quickly, |
Sending prayers for TJ and my thoughts are with you. |
Sending Prayers of Healing for TJ! He is in good hands with a very Loving Mommie. HUGS to you both! Hope his surgery & recovery go smoothly. Keep us posted. |
OMG!!!! How scary!!:( Poor little baby!!! Will be keeping your little guy in my thoughts and prayers!! He's a lucky baby to have such a wonderful caring mom!!! Thanks for keeping us updated!! I will check back! |
He made it thru surgery well and woke up good. They were able to flush the stones into the bladder, they removed about 10 stones. Dr. said they looked like urate, but won't have results for 3-5 days. The surgery for his new pee hole also went well. He will be staying in ICU till Tuesday. I still can't truly believe till unfolded. All I have to say is that when an emergency seems to arise, there's no time to think just get to the Vet! |
Nicole, I am so sorry to hear this about your TJ. It is horrible to have one of our little loves really sick but just know that he is where he needs to be and getting all of the help he needs to get well. I am sure your head is spinning and your world is crazy - nobody takes the serious illness of a family member calmly. Try to soothe yourself with the thoughts of his very first day back home when he can see that his life is right back on track, his bed right where it was, his toys right where he left them and a doting family still there to love and care for him. Okay - I know you probably can't think beyond the next 5 minutes but just know that all here are sending you and TJ love and prayers and before long he will be home. |
Nicole Im just now seeing this thread. Im so sorry for TJs problems with stones but Im glad the surgery is over and went well. I will keep TJ in my prayers |
So sorry Nicole. :( Yorkieluv's Miko had this surgery also if I remember right. He should be just fine with bladder and liver management. |
Thank you all again for your prayers and well wishes - it really means a lot to me. I have been here for a long time, and have seen this before, I have given advice over and over, but gosh what a different story when it's happening to you. My brain went to mush :( Dr. said he was going to try to get a liver biopsy, but bc they had to take the bladder up and out, he wasn't able to do so. He said from what he could see of the liver that he didn't think there was an actual shunt (good), so more towards MVD with him as well. Crystal, I didn't know Milo had the "pee hole" surgery  She is actually back as a Mod on the DLD group, so after I take a little nap now, I am going to send her an email and pick her brain ;) |
