I Hope I am Wrong
 
Maddie's little sister, Cooper, has an appointment in the morning at 7:30. We had a horrible scare last week with her getting choked on a rope bone she found and had shredded before I discovered it.:( Later, she vommitted up a scary sized chunk of rope. She had been acting like her same ol' rowdy self.

Now, something is just not right. I called and talked to our Vet this evening and he is letting me bring her in early in the morning. She acts like she feels okay, no loss of appetite, and she is drinking. She has had some irregular bowel movements and I don't feel like everything is right with her. I pray I am wrong and would appreciate you all remembering us.:( Thanks ahead of time.

I had a terrible experience with a rope toy- it did eventually all pass on its own though- they are no longer allowed inside my home.

Good Luck tomorrow at the vet- sending good thoughts your way.

Ugh, it was a Christmas present for Maddie. She actually uses them they way they were meant to be used~chew, toss and fetch, and has never destroyed one. Cooper could not have had that thing more than 20 min.

We will not have another one here either. Horrible...I was running through heimlich manuver in my head.:(

Prayers for little Cooper. Who would have thought a rope toy??? I don't know about anyone else's but these little buggers of ours will eat anything. Kayla is the worst about taring up toys. She will eat rocks, leaves, sticks and anything she can get through the doggie door. Hope that baby will be okay. I know its so scarey when they are not their selves. Choking scares me to death. Please let us know as soon as you find out anything.

I am frightened about many toys. A friend of mine went home one day to a dead pup. :( She was devastated. The poor thing choked to death on a toy...actually it was the insides of the toy. Those toys that have the stuff inside that makes noises...not the little plastic squeakers...these have a stick like thing and netting in them. This poor little pupster choked on the netting.

We just got back with great news. Cooper's exam and xray's showed everything looking good. She may have had a blockage, which would have explained the bloating and irregular bm's (going from black to green), but she appears to have passed it on her own. Whew!

She has never show any signs of being sick really other than her bm's. I decided better safe than sorry and took the day off to have her checked. $143.00 feels like a lot to pay to hear she is okay, but knowing she is okay is priceless. :)

Glad to hear Cooper is okay. It's really scarey but I would pay anything to learn my babies are okay. It's such a relief. It just cost me $341 for Zoe to find her okay except for a slightly elevated liver count which the vet will retest in 4 weeks. The vet gave her Pepcid and sub fluidis because she was dehydtrated and now is she back to her crazy self. You can never pay too much to take care of your fur babies.
