Her paw is still hurting quite a bit. She's not walking on it....but I can imagine it would be hurting a lot because of all the touching she went through yesterday to take the x-ray.

She seems ok....I can't wait until she feel better!

Me too thank God!!! I feel sooooo bad watching her walk on three paws....though honestly, shes escaped me and runs just as fast as when she is on all four. She's really playful lol.

Are you sure he didn't say give her Baby Aspirin? Low dose aspirin can be safely given to dogs.

Just an update! Layla is doing better! She's putting a little more weight on her paw and it doesn't seem to hurt as much anymore :D!!! She's as playful as ever lol....annoying my senior chihuahua to pieces. :rolleyes:

Thanks to all of you who are following / followed Layla. It means a lot to me. <3

Don't be too surprised if she seems to do well for a day or two and then relapses. They tend to forget they are hurt once they start feeling better and then they "over do it" and start limping again. The longer you can keep her quiet and contained, the faster she will heal.

Yeah that's exactly what I have been suspicious of. I am planning on keeping her off of her paw for as long as I can. :thumbup:

That's exactly what happened with Max. He seemed better and I let him "over do it". He wound up hurting his leg again because it didn't heal long enough.

It's threads like this with positive energy & helpful advice that make me so happy to be a part of YT.

I'm glad she's doing better. It's too bad she's got to spend New Year's Eve resting, but her next year will surely be better! At least, it isn't broken. That's the good thing.:)

I remember that. It happened to Scarlett, too, because I was a sucker for those little brown eyes and let her out of her crate to play way too soon.

Hearing this news is just wonderful. Layla sounds like such a special baby. I'm so glad that she is improving, This is just one of the things that will shape the memories that you have of your precious little girl. My husband and I still laugh at our little Gracie's visit at an emergency center at midnight. After having to have her tranquilized to get a good x-ray of her foot and a huge amount of worry, the next day she woke up and was ready to tear around the house again. When the doctor tried to examine her foot, it hurt her so much that she growled at him, and we were shocked. It was the only time in her lifetime that we heard her growl at a person; she was such an amazing little girl. You will always worry about your little one, but I hope you have very healthy, happy, and loving days with her in the coming new year and for many, many more years to come.
