| ![]() This is why lots of LS Mommy's choice to feed RC Hepatic LS 14 (dry) - it doesn't have that stuff, and is actually lower in fat and protein grams. Since it's dry, it's best to add distilled water to it. |

| ![]() This may help some other YT members with LS doggies... or it may not, it seems as though the best route is really based on your own dog, your vet and your opinion. Anyways, I work with physicians on a daily basis and was given a purine chart from them for people with gout. Obviously gout is different than LS, but since purines are what makes my baby sick, it certainly can't hurt to know what has a lot and what doesn't. I hope it helps someone! I can't figure out why it has so many types of brains on the list - ew! I know I was happy to see Brodie's favorite treat, pear, was very low ![]() This is the site with the list: Foods High in Uric Acid |

We had a member: YorkieLuv She hasn't been on in a while, but perhaps you can go back and search her old posts (2005-2007 range). Her Yorkie had BATs in the 300 range, but he had MVD - he was producing crazy amounts of stones, and I believe they were Urate. She started to juice fresh zucchini daily and added this to his food (can't remember how much, maybe a teaspoon or tablespoon), but it had to be fresh, and every day. Anyway, after some time, he stopped producing the stones, but I believe she had to continue with the juiced zucchini. Also, that group I posted DogLiverDisease on yahoo. You should really join. They follow Dr. Center's protocol and follow a strict Medical Management for Liver Shunt dogs (with or without surgery). They have lots of good advice and suggestions, and I really think you and Brody would benefit!

WOW! I had never read that. I will have to go search her now. I am a member of the yahoo group, I have been since Brodie's first bought with LS... back when I wasn't sure what it was. I find the format of yahoo a bit confusing though I must admit! Thanks for the well wishes for Brodie! ![]()
