This news is really good to hear... I hope you will consider doing a review of your vet here: Breeder, Vet, & Groomer Reviews - YorkieTalk.com Forums - Yorkshire Terrier Community as it could help others in need of finding a good vet in your area... |
WOW from me too. :) How fortunate to have chosen such a wonderful vet for Karmen. Thanks for updating. I am happy to hear she will make a full recovery. :cheer:Way to go Karmen!:cheer: |
Just wanted to post a quick update on Karmen - she has completely recovered!!! Not only has almost all her skin grown back (there is juts a small wound left, about the size of a quarter, which is quickly filling in) but her hair is growing back too! That was the weirdest thing to me, because I assumed she would have a lot of scarring and would not regrow the hair in that area. But all her poodle hair is growing back :-) She is acting like nothing ever happened. I still cannot believe she has recovered. When I saw the amount of skin she lost on her rump (she lost pretty much all the skin on her butt and lower back), I thought for sure we would be putting her to sleep. But a mere three weeks later and she is all better! Our vets are amazing. And this was done without any surgery! |
I am just catching your thread. Thank you so very much for sharing Karmen's story with us -- and thank you for keeping us updated. Sounds like you have a wonderful vet and you are wonderful doggie parents for hanging in there with her. :hugs: to you all! |
Way to go Karmen! WooHoo! :D She must have been quite healthy to begin with too. Surprising sometimes what these little dogs can withstand... all heart no doubt! Big Hugs from us! |
This is fantastic news. I am so glad you listened to Karmen and let her be the judge of her own circumstances. She's a real fighter that's for sure! Good job to you and the vets. I just love these happy stories. |
Wow, that is really wonderful news. I thought it might take a lot longer for the wound to completely heal, actually. Your vets really sound remarkable and progressive. What I believe probably helped Karmen the most was love and that your parents and you love Karmen enough that you hung in there and did everything you could to help her. She's a lucky girl and I hope she has many more years to feel the love. |
