Hopefully, it will heal quickly. When he gets his doggles it will be safer for him to play outside. I want to see him in his doggles, too. He's going to look so cool.:D |
Poor .Max. I hope this clears up quickly |
I am sorry to hear about Max's eye -- I hope that it heals quickly. I'm glad that he was so brave at the vet during the testing. That shows just how resilient he is! My dad's German Shepherd just went to the vet yesterday for this same problem. His eye has a bacteria infection along with a scratch so he's on a few different drops; he has to go back in two weeks to ensure its healed properly. Keeping you and Max in my thoughts as his eye heals. :) |
Poor little guy. I hope his eye is better really soon. |
Thank you all for the well wishes. :) Max had more big green/yellow goobers today, but he is feeling much better after some pain medication and restarting the eye drops. He must know that I am trying to help him because he sits so nicely and holds his head still while I put in the drops. We went for our usual walk and he was content to let me carry him while we watched his brother Teddy run around the backyard. Max promises to post pictures of his Doggles. |

Kristin, I'm glad that Maxman is feeling better. But if another incident occurs, if at all possible take him to a specialist opthamologist. You will want to know about scarring on cornea (if any), and any other irregularities that may be present. |

Both the regular doctors who have examined Max so far assured me that all parts of the inner and outer eye are looking good. |

We didn't get moto to trust us about the drops till week two of drops. I did find that holding his beard under his chin helped calm him and hold him still. I wasn't actually able to do the drops myself till at least day 4. I needed a second set of hands. I found that sitting him on my bathroom counter and holding his muzzle in my hand worked well once he realized we weren't trying to drown him with drops. But then again he is still a puppy. |
Max goes to the vet tomorrow for his follow up exam. I'm crossing my fingers that his eye has healed completely and that I can't stop worrying about this. I re-read our vet's bio and was reminded that he has a special interest in ophthalmology. While he is not a certified specialist, I am happy that he has received advanced training in the field. |
Keeping positive thoughts for Max. |
I hope you get good news tomorrow.:) |
Good luck Max! |
