BamBam Been saying prayers for BamBam and lighting candles. Glad to hear he is doing so much better. Hope they are able to tell you what caused this. Please keep us updated, and we will continue to keep both of you in our prayers. |
Great news, BamBam was doing very well this morning and they discharged him at 11a! He has had three smaller meals and looks like he's getting ready for some more food. The vet recommended we feed him a paste like mixture of dog food and chicken baby food for the next few days, he really has taken a liking to it! My husband and I are taking shifts with him over the next two or three nights, so that someone will be up with him at all times. We're nervous wrecks and tried to sleep with him in between us but neither of us could sleep that way. BamBam is on Clavamox for the next two weeks and then we will have a follow-up appointment, assuming he doesn't need to be seen before then. As far as a diagnosis goes, they are almost sure he had a severe allergic reaction. We just aren't sure to what. I've gone through the house and thrown away all bones and any of the rougher looking toys. I also threw out anything that changed within 48 hours of BamBam getting sick, such as the new airwick we put in the wall of the living room. I have noticed spiders running around lately and it's possible he ingested one, it's even possible that he got bitten and we just couldn't find the area of contact. Not knowing really frightens me but I'm hopeful that this won't be a reoccurring problem. Happy Thanksgiving everyone! My little family sure has a lot to be tankful for this holiday season! I'm off to feed my little guy and get him his next dose of medicine. |
When they are puppies, they manage to get into some strange things. When he is not under close supervision, I advise restricting him to an area that you know is totally safe. Perhaps an x-pen? Or, a gated small room such as kitchen or laundry room? You really do have a lot to be thankful for! I am SO happy for you and your little guy! :) |
That's so great that he is home now. I'm sure he'll get better faster at home, too. |
Just read all your updates. I am so happy your baby is making a recovery. That sounds so scary, it sounds like it happened so fast. You were faced with life or death decisions before you even knew what was happening. I'm glad to hear Bam Bam is home. |
I'm not quite sure I've heard of such a wee one with such fight. Awfully young and tiny to want so desperately to hang on to life. Good on him. He truly is your Thanksgiving baby. What a wonderful celebration this will be every year. |
