I think it could be the vaccine too. I have a friend who just lost her nine year old lab after within a couple weeks of getting the vaccine. It was the new Meriel lepto vaccine. She gave this vaccine after her English setter got lepto even though she had received the immunization. The lab started with liver problems, then her other organs started shutting down. It was pretty quick and the vets, both her regular vet who gave the vaccine and the vets at another hospital and an emergency vet where Shelley ended up with Taz were stumped. I hope Maggie is feeling better soon and that it wasn't the vaccine. That is too scary to think. |

What kind and Brand of kibble are you feeding her? Does Buster eat the same kind? Check the bag of kibble to see if it's breaking down. It may get real crumbling, a lot of kibble dust in the bottom, or you may see holes in the individual pieces. When you first open it, smell it. Does it smell okay? (looking for amonia or mold odors) Is the color uniform throughout or does it look off? PS: If you're waiting on bloodwork... call the vet and have them call the lab and make it 'STAT'. May cost a little extra but you'll get the results quicker. |
