Thank you all again! The prayers must be working. The doctor just called and told me I can pick Chelsea up at 5:30pm. I just hope I'm not making the wrong decision in bringing her home for the night. |

I was out all day...just seeing this. Bonny, I will keep you and Chelsea in my thoughts and prayers. |
I am so sorry. Please update us, let us know how the evening into the night is going with you both. Can I ask if he did a Ultra sound of the Heart?, any recent steroid treatments?, could she possible have gotten into any she shouldnt have. Any signs symptoms of infection. Sorry if this has been covered already. I see you mentioned Addison's disease, was she given any fluids at the vet's? "Addisons disease dog symptoms cause a dog to appear weak and lethargic. Vomiting and diarrhea are common. Other symptoms include reduced appetite, tremors, shaking, muscle weakness and pain in the hind quarters." Again I am sorry if you reviewed this already. Praying for you both for a good night. |
I am just seeing this Bonny! Please know that we have you and Chelsea in our thoughts and prayers. Moose is sending Chelsea a "friendly kiss" ~~ and a dance! He knows that his love AprilLove would be ok with this! ;) Sending hugs to you Bonny! |

Checking in to see how you and Chelsea are doing this morning. |
Oh my gosh, Bonny :(! Just reading this. How is she doing this morning? When do you get the test results for Addisons? (in a nut shell, btw, Addisons is the 'opposite' of what Wylie has, which is Cushings; Addisons is generally very manageable) I can also tell you about dogs and pacemakers. I used to work in the pacer/defib (implantable) sales field - and when we had 'short-dated' pacemakers (about to expire for human use, but still LOTS of battery life left)...we could donate them to Vet Hospitals so they could use them for the animals. I would be asked occasionally to come check their pacemakers (with my special computer) for follow-up - and I can tell you these dogs do wonderfully with pacemakers! I remember all of the owners describing how their babies went from being lethargic, to back to their old selves after the pacemaker brought their rate back up. I hope you are able to find out soon what is going on - you're probably sick with worry, and the waiting is some of the worst of it. Lots of hugs and love to you and Chelsea! |
Chelsea and I just got home from the vet. She perked up last night as soon as we walked in the house but she still wasn't her normal self. We both rested better than I expected. I was actually able to sleep and just woke up several times in the night to check on her. The bloodwork results were already back when we got there this morning. Everything's good on that - no Addison's. All potassium, sodium, liver enzymes, etc. were well within the normal ranges. Her hydration is good. Dr. Haynes ran another ECG this morning and said her heartrate is up closer to normal but not really where he wants it to be. Also, it's now skipping several beats and he's concerned about that. He wants to run another ECG in a few days and then we'll probably be referred to a Cardiologist. I'm assuming that the cardiologist will do the ultrasound and whatever additional testing Chelsea needs, if she even needs it. Dr. Haynes wasn't as forthcoming this morning about what might be going on now that Addison's has been ruled out. He said let's just wait and see what the next few days brings. Chelsea is acting better this morning so I'm trying to stay positive. I just don't know what to think. Yesterday I googled so many possibilities that I scared myself stupid - and I still don't know what's wrong with her. Thank you all for all the prayers! Please continue to pray for my little girl. I know that modern medicine can work miracles, but she's so young still. She really has me worried. I just want her to be well. Hugs, Bonny |

I'd try to keep her quiet. Maybe crate rest? I few walks with Momma outside, if the weather there is as good here. I think a cardiologist is a great idea. Just a thought; why not get the referral now from your general vet? Let the expert due another ECG if he is so inclined. I guess for me, I would be so scared, that even if in three days time the ecg is normal, I'd still want to see a specialist. I'm sure with all the research you've done, you don't want to speculate on what it could be. Skipping beats can be indicative of a few conditions. Sending lots of ((((((((Hugs)))))))) your way. You and Chelsea will be in my thoughts and prayers today. |
I will keep Chelsea in my prayers. It is so hard not knowing what the problem is. |
Happy to see your post, Bonny! Will definitely keep your Chelsea, and you, in my thoughts and prayers. |
Glad to see Chelsea is better today and is stable. Will keep praying it's nothing serious and that she continues to improve. |
Prayers for Chelsea and of course her mom. Hope that she gets a diagnosis soon. |
Sending more prayers for you and Chelsea. |
