Carlo took a turn for the worse The big guy was fine this morning, ate, nice walk. Around 7 pm he started really panting, and acting restless, and would not eat his dinner. At 9 pm he threw up, and when he was laying down, I touched his left side and he yelped...he never yelped in his life like that. Figuring I startled him, I did it again. Same thing. Well, to the Emergency Vet that he has gone to for years near our house. After waiting an hour, we saw her. Did the same thing when the Vet touched him there. Normal Temp, good gums, good heart rate, looked good. Managed to do an X-Ray and there is an outline behind the Stomach and near the liver. The Vet is not sure what it is. Could be a new growth, a large Ulcer, something with the liver, she is not sure. She said the Paladdia may be the cause, but again, not sure. Tomorrow id we can get him in he will go to the Surgical Hospital for a Scan and to see his Internist and Oncologist. It may not be until Monday if they can't get the Radiolofist and his regular specialist in. He did take a treat when we just got home a few minutes ago. Just when we thought he had beat it. He is a tropper and still just looks at us as if to say don't worry, I can get thru this. Really depressing. Marge crying, and even little Max knows something is up as she is laying next to jim in my office. Tomorrow is another day. If he can have a good quality of life, we will do what we can. |
OMG, I'm crying too. He has been doing so good, we just expect that it will continue. My prayers are with you all right now. Sending hugs too. |
So sorry to hear about Carlo. Your family will be in my thoughts. Hang in there Carlo. I hear you are quite the trooper! Please keep us posted. |
He is sleeping now, and seems comfortable. Sorry for all the typo's. I reread what I wrote, and even I am shaking my head. Well let you know what we find out either tomorrow or Monday. All depends on when they have the proper Specialists there. |
Sad to hear this news... will be praying that it is minor... Carlo hang in there... |
Hang in there Carlo. You, Marge and Max too. Keep us posted. |
