HELP..My 3lb baby is so sick!! Please help. I went on Vacation for 3 days and left him with a good friend. They have a dog as well. When we picked him up last night he was fine then this afternoon he starts shaking and throwing up and has diarrhea. He has now thrown up and diarrhea 2 times. Hes walking around very slow and not perky at all. His eyes tell me he is soo sick. What should I do? Im trying to give him lots of water so he does not get dehydrated. PLEASE HELP! |
He just tried pooping again just right now and its coming out like little drips. |
So sorry that your little one is sick....i think i would be making a trip to the vet if i were you. I wish you good luck and hope he is feeling better soon..:) |

That doesn't sound very good. I'd be worried about throwing up and diarrhea. Maybe he ate something toxic or has something stuck? I'd definitely call the vet and bring him in to be safe. 3 lbs is very small and he can go down quickly! |
One this small and young needs to be seen by a vet, giving water is not enough. |
Get him to Vet Water is not enough. Bring him in to the nearest emergency vet. |
Did you bring him to the vet???? Give him nutrical also but get him to a vet ASAP |
Everyone is saying to take him to the vet, but you probably won't listen!!! What would you do if it was you that were sick like this, or your child? Give the vet a call. He is too little for this to go on for any length of time. I'm sutre there is an emergency vet in your area that you can call. They are open 24 hrs. |

And when you do take him in get a full blood panel done, and arrange for BAT testing. As you well know shaking can not only be a sign of hypoglyecemina, but also liver shunt. |

INSTEAD THIS IS WHAT YOU DID ... AND HERE ARE THE RESULTS: Quote:
weren't you supposed to take DJ with you on the plane? Instead you left him with a friend with a dog that might possibly have been sick. WHAT YOU SHOULD DO: Now you simply MUST get him to a vet immediately. All the symptoms you mentioned indicate low blood sugar, gastroenteritis, dehydration and can possibly be life threatening. He needs to be on IV fluids and a quik pak of water at the very least. Please tell us you did take him to the vet as soon as you saw what he was going through. His life may be at risk. We all wish you & your little one (DJ) the very best. Please keep us updated. |

Checking in for an update...is DJ better? What did the vet say? |
I just have to put another word in ; if this yorkie was a human baby would you hesitate on bringing the child to the doctor. This dog can not speak for himself it is your responsibility to get the animal to a vet. I consider my yorkie as my child and there would be no question bringing her to the vet. |

Please tell me he has seen a vet?? And who did you leave him with when you were away? Praying this little one gets better. |

Update? Just checking for an update, hoping little DJ is ok... |
I hope DJ is feeling better by now. Did you take him to get checked by your vet? The first time I left Zeus with a pet sitter over night he came home and had the runs with blood. I panicked and took him to my vet and she said it was from nerves. He has a sensitive stomach and now I give him an antacid before leaving him. He has gotten better. I hope this is all it is with DJ. Please keep us posted. Hugs to little DJ.:animal-pa |
I hope your baby is ok. Small babies like him has very sensitive tummy and he might have eaten something that belongs to your friend's dog. With diarrhea, his body gets dehydrated fast, so if you can buy some pedialyte and let him drink it instead of water. Also, if you can find glucose gel, give him about 1/2 tsp every 3-4hrs. If you can't find it, nutri-cal will do as well to pucker up his sugar level. And feeding just chicken breast with plain oatmeal and some pumpkin puree will help to stop his diarrhea. I'm not an expert, but these help me most of the times when my babies have same problem. Best thing is ofcourse, to go the vet asap. Hope everything is well with your little baby! |
Any news? |
Natnutt, is there really e dog at all? If there is, you should give it away. If there is not, you should get counseling. |

well said .... |
Shondanusmc & Keno have it right I do not understand this woman, she only posts to boast or to incite us with worry about her little baby. Then she does not come back on to let us know how he is doing. I worry for the little one. I really should avoid her posts but it is like a train wreck, I just have to look. I hope DJ is okay. |

Could you please update us? When a dog has these symptoms, a dog needs a medical assessment...and that cannot be done on the internet. I hope you got this baby to the vet, and that he is okay. |
That little one is much too small to loose any weight. He needs a vet right away. There are so many reasons for this kind of condition. I would not wait |
I don't come to YT too much lately. However, have noticed the same poster talk about some very upsetting things. This time , leaves us all hanging  So if their is really a 3Lb little yorkie who is very ill then please do the sensible thing. When your an owner of a animal then your basicaly it's parent. Take care of him , he is not going to get better on his own, waiting too long could have devastating consequences. Update your thread because not doing so makes me think that you really do not care. |
