With regards to that breeder, ALL I want to say is IF she said the things she said to Karen, you can best believe I would publicize it. She already said she did not want the pup back, I believe.
Bottom line, IF I paid for a pup and a breeder spoke to me that way, I would tell anyone who would listen because IF there was a problem with a puppy in the future people need to know where this person stands.
I don't care if he has a problem that is from her line or not. IF there ever was a problem, clearly she sounds like someone who may NOT honor her contract if there is one.
As for her not working with me...that is a joke. I would not want anything from her..not even one dollar if she had told me to euthanize him. I would tell the world who she is.
Enough said from me.... just had to spit it out.

I am so happy to hear that all of the test results have come back within normal range...what a relief....I also still wonder if it was the sentinel. Either way, Max sounds like he is going to have a long and wonderful life with a very devoted mom!! Thank god he was placed with you...he is a lucky pup!:animal-pa

I REALLLLLLLLY think it's the Sentinal. Check out these comments: Head bobbing in dogs

My local vet just emailed me from her home email to check in with me to see how Max is. I have wonderful doctors here.

Your vet seems like a great person!

And wow, yea, that article sounded just like Max's situation. So, do you think you are going to hold off on the meds then?

The doctors report stated that there was a very mild change in Max's part of the brain that showed focal seizures. I don't know if he's seizing or head bobbing. I believe they gave him epileptic medicine tonight, which I'm ok with. If he had any kind of reaction I'd much rather it be there.

I will speak to them tomorrow about my concerns of whether it's Sentinel, head bobbing, focal seizures, etc. I don't want to give him meds if it's not necessary but i'm sure they know more than me.

I still have to get through the Distemper results the end of this week. I'm hopeful.

Max through up in the car 3x on the way to the vet. Poor baby. Hopefully it'll be a better ride there.

I think you have maintained your composer very well through all of this, even considering the possibility that it was the Sentinal. And considering how many people keep trying to get you to bash your breeder. You are truely a lady of quality to not make your business affairs public. I admire you.

I appreciate that. There were a lot of complications with the breeder at first, as we were both scared to death and shocked. We both handled things horribly. We are working on fixing our relationship, which has nothing to do with Max's health. I just hope that we can restore his health so Cooper can have that toy I promised him:)

Don't let people take your focus off the most important thing, and thats Max and his health. Hang in there, hopefully he will get better soon and your can more on with the fun of living with you family. I'm keeping all of you in my prayers.

That is very interesting. Sounds very much like what your dog is experiencing; wonder if any of those owners had mri's and if they showed any changes.
Interested to see if the medication has any effect on him.

Hmmmm, Max really needs to be back home with Cooper. Ok, how about Karen brings Max home and THEN gives him all our kissens? ;)

I saw you lived on LI 20 years ago, we moved here to Philadelphia from Eastern LI also, 5 years ago!

It's very interesting. It really does sound like head bobbing due to the heartworm. But with Max, it also looks like very minor seizures and the vets say he has focal seizures. I have a lot of questions about the medication.

With my luck he'll be allergic to chapstick:rolleyes: I'm excited to create the thread "Max is Home!".

That article you posted the link to was very interesting. I noticed there were a couple of stories about dogs that started the head head bobbing after receiving flea treatment or heartworm meds. I am so happy that all the tests came back well but I know you are still concerned about what actually caused this and if it is permanent. You should ask the vet about his vaccinations also. I would recommend only distemper and parvo and put off the rabies as long as possible. I know you will do what is best there after talking to your vet. I pray he does not require any medications because then you would have to worry about side effects. I hope he gets to come home soon.

They are still sending his bloodwork to test for distemper, and while i'm celebrating, i'm praying in the back of my mind that it's not that. They gave him epileptic meds last night and I believe if there are side effects it would happen within the first few hours. I would much rather it happen there than at my home so they can watch him. I believe he comes home today. I think they are calling me around 9am to tell me when to get him.

That is very understandable. You were both upset.

I hope you can get it resolve falso. But as others have posted sometimes you just have to live with it. but for the most part they are happy healthy dogs.

Im not an expert by any means and I agree to a point about the meds being harmful to a dog so young, however if the seizures are already causing some minor damage then wont that continue if he was to have one seizure after another??

If I have an epileptic dog, I can adapt to that. If he's a head bobber, I can live with it. I was expecting the worst with these test results.

The vet just called. I get Max at 12pm. He did great last night, no reaction to the meds.

I think so. And what I'm thinking is that even if the Sentinel is the cause of the seizures/bobbing, then they want to administer anti seizure meds at least to slow it down.

I will speak with them when I pick up Max. I have a whole list of questions. I'm sure they will love my personal internet research on head bobbing/heart worm.:rolleyes:

This vet said NOT to give Max Sentinel anymore and discuss with my primary vet alternatives.
