QUICK UPDATE ------- Spoken to the vets and they said it is open surgery tomorrow from 9am - 11am so we have to bring her in then and we dont need an appointment. I explained the situation and they said that they will check her over, if she needs surgery they will book her in ASAP and will give her some pain relief for over the weekend if she needs it. She dosnt seem to be in any pain as she is acting her normal self, playing and wagging her tail alot and she dosnt mind me touching it but we will see what the vet says tomorrow. This is not the vet I usually see as they are not open tomorrow but It is from the same branch of vets and I have heard lots of good things about them so hopefully all is well. I will be outside waiting for them to open at 9am! Thanks again to everyone who replied, I will update tomorrow. |

Thinking of pretty Poppy! Did vet say what they think need do? |
No it wasnt the vet I spoke to on the phone I think it was just the receptionist, She just said to bring her in first thing in the morning and they will check her over. She said they will give her pain meds for any pain/discomfort and see if she needs surgery. To be honest she didnt let me get a word in edge ways so I didnt get a chance to tell her how old she was or what kind of dog she was or anything. But I supose the vet will take good care of her tomorrow. |
Its her 9 week birthday today too bless her :( |
:( Poor darling. I lit another candle...House it lit up with Poppy prayer! Cuddling Mango and Berry (my bunnies) they say 'get better soon Poppy!!" |
Thats so sweet thank you :) xx |
UPDATE! I took Poppy to the vets this morning and the vet says her tail is deffo dislocated or fractured, but because its on the very end it should be okay. She said when this happens they usually loose feeling in the bit after the fracture. If it had of been closer to her butt it could be dangerous because she would loose feeling in most of her tail and then try and bite her tail off as she wouldnt recognise it as part of her body, but because its right at the very end she said that Poppy shouldnt even notice it. She said it wasnt worth using a splint to straighten it because it would cause her more stress and it isnt causing her any discomfort at the moment so its best to just leave it to heal. It will obviously heal with a slight bend in the end but I dont care aslong as she is okay and not in any pain :) Would LOVE to know how she managed to do it though hmmm...... Thanks to everyone who replied Poppy feels much loved :) |
I had a cat once that had the end of her tail caught in a closing door. The end was bent but didn't bother her. |
Thats good, It dosnt seem to bother Poppy either and the vet says its okay just to leave it and it will be fine :) |
I'm glad to hear that she is OK. She is adorable. Daisy and Teddy send her kisses. |
That's good news! :) Thanks for the update. |
Thanks everyone Poppy feels very loved :) and she sends lots of puppy kisses your way! |
