Your pup is shaking, vomiting, and liquid stool? Not a good combo. is there anyway you can ask family members for a small loan? Your baby needs to see a vet right away. Is there blood in the stool yet? Quote:

I go to a vet in Roseville (on Sunrise--the number is 916-780-0551)...they are really wonderful and not too expensive...I think $27 office visit..plus cost of possible medication. I think you should take your baby in if you can... |
I found a vet that will give me a free exam in the morning and will work with me on payments for treatment/medicine up to $400.00. Vet said I should give 2.5 ml of Pedialyte per 2 hours via dropper as long as he will drink cold water voluntarily because it has glucose in it and electrolytes in it that will keep him hydrated and blood sugar level up enough. Vet suggested I try the formula (force feed with dropper, maybe mix with Pedialyte) but don’t repeat if he starts throwing up. I’ll keep you posted. |
I'm so happy that you've found a vet to work with you! Please keep up to date on how he is doing. |

His vomit was the normal yellow bile when this started but it went clear with very little foam today, probably because he is drinking a lot, which I think is a good sign. This is the first time in my life I have been so helpless financially. I’m going to start an emergency pet fund in my area. |
That's great to hear. Let us know how he is doing. |
Great news! hoping for a full and speedy recovery! |
Sending good thoughts your way... |

Last February we got a little 2.2lb yorkie, she was 6 months old...Martini. We had a very moist, wet Spring and early Summer. She couldn't stay away from mushrooms. Always a struggle with her. Well one evening she was running around the yard and found one, we tried to get it from her, but she seemed to have consumed some of it. We thought they were harmless, had no clue they could be toxic. The consumption transpired around 8 pm on June 29, hubby put Martini and Coco in the run to potty around 9:30pm, he went down to the basement, brought the laundry up for me and went back out to the run to bring them in. Only Coco ran out and to the door. He let Coco in and he didn't come in. After about 4 minutes passed I began to worry, I was approaching the back door to go out and see if there was a problem. He came in with Martini in his arms, he had been out searching for her...had thought she had gotten out of the run but instead found he in the back corner, she was twitching and seizing. He had her little body in his arms, sat her down on the floor...she couldn't stand. We rushed her to the ER vet, them admitted her immediately, she was non-response,ive, her little body twitching. They tried and tried to stabilize her. I called to check on her at 1:23am June 30th, and she had just stopped breathing, they were trying to revive her. The ER vet phoned back around 1:51am, and nothing worked. She was gone. Martini's case was definitely different, I am aware...her necropsy revealed a liver shunt. But after speaking to Dr. L (ER vet), this mushroom could have absolutely caused liver failure and the same thing could have happened over an extended period of time instead of so rapidly due to Martini's underlying condition. I am SO VERY HOPEFUL that you are able to get Lefty to a vet and PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE dig up any mushrooms you have in your yard. Knocking them over or kicking them only spread the spores causing more and more to grow. Also treating your yard with a pet friendly fertilizer with a high level of nitrogen will help with eliminating mushrooms. |
I am so glad you found a vet who will work with you for payments. Please update us when you get back. |
Just seeing this. I am so happy that you have found a vet who will work with you on the payments. And, how nice to give you a free exam!! Truly a vet who cares! I will look for a post from you in the morning...I hope it is good news and Lefty is doing ok. |
