PLEASE help!!! Sick yorkie My yorkie is very sick she is throwing up big piles. I feel so bad I don't know what to do. She is drinking a lot of water && also peeing very often. I have noticed some gooey fluid arround her poop. When people come arround she gets all hyper and is normal. But when everyone leaves and its just her and i she acts kind of sad. I have not changed anything like feeding habbits etc. I will take her to the vet tomorrow morning but for now any advise?? Please help. |
I don't know what to tell you:( Hopefully someone will come along with a suggestion. Hang in there. |
I too hope someone has suggestions. We are in chat discussing the issue. Seems like maybe she ate something bad. She hasn't vomited in a while and is sleeping. I wish I could offer more (any) advice to you. |
I assume you are withholding food since she is vomiting? A bit of water is ok. Is the gooey stuff in the poop mucous? Perhaps her bowels are irritated. How old is she? Glad you are taking her to the vet tomorrow. |
she is a year and one month old. yes seems like mucouse. && yes i am not giving her food for tonight. I fed her in the morning but because she was not sick.:( |
ok just an update. My dog threw up a little bit of yellow with white foam. Someone said it sounds like bile so am i supposed to feed her or not?? please someone help!!! |
If your dog is vomiting, do need feed her. Make sure water is available and see your vet tomorrow. She is vomiting and having mucousy stools, so her system needs a rest from food, otherwise I think you will be up all night with her continuing to vomit and have intestinal problems. |

how much does she weigh? Are her gums sticky to the touch? white foam means she has emptied out stomach of all acids and it is now empty so only foam comes up is the stool yellow jelly like stool? Is she tossing and turning like she is in pain? when did this all start? and what did she eat within 12-24 hrs of this starting? Is she lethargic and depressed acting? could she have eaten anything to cause a blockage? any thing toxic in your house like sago palm? she is old enough to where you can withhold - you give kibble to absorb stomach acids only if it is a one time vomit but if excessive vomitting you have to get the cycle to stop |
Has there been any stress lately like a recent move, etc |
she ate in the morning her normal food its Royal Canin for yorkshire terriers. she isnt showing any signs of pain at all she is actually jumping arround as i write. I am on my bed she is on the floor jumping && licking my legs. She seems to be acting normal. She has been peeing a lot like way too much.she takes naps then wakes up like usual. |
Nope no moves. && as far as stress idk what else could cause her some stress |

If she is acting normal I would not be too concerned about pancreatitis as usually they are lethargic and in pain so that is good she is acting normal. |
no medications at all. && her pee is like clear |
yes she was drinking a lot of water. But idk if to remove her water bowl or not?? |
have you noticed she has been gulping a bunch of water after vomitting? |
her stool was normal but had some mucouse arround it. she hasnt pooped since the afternoon. |

Has she ever had blood work done? Does she ever act wierd after eating like within 2 hrs of eating? Is she a picky eater at all? |

How many times has she vomitted ? |

yeah she has had blood work done before. && yeah her gums are not sticky just wet. oh and she is not a picky eater but she is used to this food i give her. But she does eat any random thing on the floor. She used to eat cotton from her toys but a loong time ago. I dont buy her toys that have any kind of material anymore. just rubberish ones. Her stool is not yellow it was regular darkish brown just with slimey stuff arround it |
she vomited once when i was not home. Three times but a lot of vomit. big piles. then two times which was that bile looking thing. but it was small amounts |

How much does she weigh? She is not dehydrated as her gums are not sticky and she is acting normal so I think you are ok. Just restrict food and do not let her gulp water and probably just has a tummy upset sounds like to me. Maybe she licked up something that made her a little sick. Keep us posted if anything changes if her gums get sticky - you may have to take her in for fluids but hopefully that will not be the case Every 30 min you can take water bowl to her ONCE ALL VOMITTING HAS STOPPED. Then let her take a couple licks of it and take bowl away to keep her hydrated. |
