Oh My Gosh! |
Oh, my! I hope she continues to improve.:) |
Daisy! Go easy on your mommy. Joyce, you could write a book with all these stories. I'm so happy to hear she is doing better little by little -- that diet and meds are kicking in. Stay strong! |
I'm so glad she's feeling a bit better today. That was really something she tried to pull last night! You must have been terrified. |
I know it isn't really funny to you Joyce. But the dashing around the yard, what a sight that must have been....sans the near miss with the car. Easy does it Daisy! But I would be telling a non-truth if I said this update didn't make me laugh and smile. I hope this is her turning point! Continued prayers! :) |
How's Daisy doing now!!!! Keeping Daisy in my thoughts & prayers. |
Daisy is doing better today she is not isolating herself and even played a little with Pixie. She has had a little more energy than yesterday;) I am praying for her: yesterday I was so worried about her and I layed on the floor next to her and I was loving on her and I told her how much I loved her and that I didn't want her to suffer, but I wasn't ready to lose her and if she could just fight this for me it would make me so happy, but if the fight was too tough then I understood but I was gonna miss her more than anything in the world. I was crying and she picked her head up and started licking me for about 3 minutes licking my tears off. I prayed like crazy all day yesterday;) Please pray that she continues to recover;) thanks.... |

Praying that Daisy continues to recover!!! She knows how much you love her. She is so precious and I hope she continues to get better.! |
I just read this whole ordeal...what a rollercoaster of a time. I will add my prayers for Daisy to totally recover. Give her gentle hugs from me. Dyan, Mom to Bentley and Baxter |
so happy she is doing better today :) Keep going strong daisy girl |
I'm so glad that Daisy seems to be doing better! Bless her sweet heart! I'm very thankful that she wasn't run over last night when she got out. What a scare. I remember once when Maddie and Libby got out...ran into the street and our neighbor man stopped traffic to keep them safe. I hope you all have a great weekend with nothing but good thing in your lives! *HUG* |
something interesting I was oing through Daisy's papers bc I keep all of them and I was reading her discharge papers again:eek: I just think I was in such a state of confusion I over looked this. Diagnosis: Doxycycline liver hepatopathy (presumed) xrays reveal a small liver, bloodwork reveals severe elevation to the liver values as well as cholesterol. ALT and GGT are mildly improved.ALP is largely underchanged. Vomiting and apetitie have improved with supportive care included intravenous fluids, antacids/milkthistle/antioxidantsuppliment,ampicillin,flagyl,anti-nauseamedications, vitmamin k1 and narcotic pain relief. Abdominal ultrasound by specialist rules out an overt liver or pancreatic tumor. The mesentric lymph nodes are normal. The adrenal glands are normal lowering the clincial suspicion for concurrent cushing's disease. Any Opinions on this? |

She may not have Cushings at all, as you know, but you know what I'm saying...as you/me have messaged about :). |

The vitamin K they use for dogs that get into poisons like rat poison so they used that to offset the toxin. The Narcotic for pain sounds like they may have used Tramadol possibly or torbutrol and may be why they did milk thistle soley rather than using sam-e and milk thistle as sam-e should not be mixed with tramadol and posted the link below as it has not been thoroughly tested so may be why as they are being real cautious now with everything with her since she had a reaction. Ann do you think they could rule it out for cushings with that urine test you mentioned on that other thread with the pomeranian? Just curious as i know you mentioned that urine test and was not too expensive. |
Another bloodwork link: Abnormal liver enzymes: A practical clinical approach (Proceedings) - Veterinary Healthcare May help explain stuff. Prayers.... |
I have been following this thread and so glad Daisy is feeling better.:) |
Just so you know, Vitamin K is for blood coagulation. |
Way to go Daisy! Im so glad she feels better. Continued prayers for a complete recovery. |
I am also very excited that Daisy is coming around. I love her mom's beautiful stories about her...she is one VERY loved pupster!! :) |

I am so confused:( |

Well, there was liver involvement and often there might be problems with bleeding because the liver cannot make the clotting substances. They may have been concerned about some of the lab values...just ask your vet when you speak with them again. |
a little update Daisy is doing ok today and I am hoping that she is feeling a little better. she is still keeping her food down and has bouts of energy. she does nap a lot but I guess I would too if I went through what she has. I continue to do research and pray that she fully recovers and that we get to the bottom of this. I thank everyone for all their support and prayers and I will keep you updated if there are any sudden changes. for now I am continuing with the home cooked and lots of lovin bc that is a big part of healing. I once read on a plaque in a gift store that if we have ONE person in our life that truly loves us. We can SURVIVE anything:) I am hanging onto those words;) |
I'm so glad to hear that Daisy is doing good. I will keep praying for her continued recovery. You and Daisy are so blessed to have each other.:) |
Great update :)! I'm so glad she is feeling better and showing some spunk. Yay, Daisy! |
