| My dog lily I had just found out today that lily has cancer. She had just turned 4 on may 5 of last week. Lily had been spayed after her first heat at like 7months old. The groomers found a bump on her face, so I brought her in. The Vet said it was an was a bad tooth. When he went to pull the tooth he found that there were others that needed pulling. So he did and X-ray and found that her whole left jaw bone had detereated to nothing, he took test and found it to be cancer. Lily has not been acting any different then normal. I have a meeting with an oncologist. Has any one heard of such a thing? |

| I do not have knowledge about this, but did want to say how sorry I was about the diagnosis. Hope the treatment goes well. Hopefully, some other members on YorkieTalk will be able to share their knowledge. By the way, welcome - we are glad you are here.

| I've heard cases of osteomylitis (sp) of the jaw due to infection . . which could come from the teeth if they were infected. Of course, I've also heard of cancer of the jaw in humans but this is the first I've heard in dogs. I'm sorry to hear of the diagnosis and hope there is a good treatment out there for your little Lilly. |

| I've no experience with this, but hope the oncologist can give you a positive prognosis. Lily is so young, and I'm so sorry.

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | I'm so sorry to hear about Lily's diagnosis. Did you discuss removing the infected part of the jaw and then doing chemo? Or is the infected part just too large to remove?
