layla just read all your posts about layla..yes you could write a book..i know tears r flowing down my cheeks now..i know how you feel and i wouldn't give up either..my first yorkie daisy-mae was 7wks when i bought her..she stopped eating food so i was fixing her homemade meals everything..rushed her to my vet early in the morning and he said i was doing everything right..2 wks after i owned her she had her first seizure..i cuddled her till she came out of it..when i took her a wk later for her 2nd shots at my vets i mentioned him about it..when he took her temperature she had 1 on the table..he felt her head and i can't remember the full name now but she was born with fluid around her brain..i did research on the computer and they said if their born with it they will die..if they get it in later life it can be drained..the breeder want a 2nd opinion so i went to another vet..they thought the same thing...but wanted to do a 200.00 blood test and i said any test my own vet would do..she wasn't so good that night..but the next day she seemed perky but by 11:30a.m. she was going limp in my arms me and my husband rushed her to my vet and he said i had to put her to sleep at 11wks of age..cause she's dying in my arms and if i did the blood test to confirm it she will be dead by the time the tests came back..and knowing me with animals if i didn't put her down me and the kids would wake up to her being dead in 3 days..i tried to be in the room with her cause she was so young and my baby..when they gave the first needle to relax her i thought that was the it needle and when she screamed i ran out of the room screaming and crying but my husband stayed with her..i couldn't see her like that i tried to stay but i would have that itch in my brain forever..she's buried at the pet cemetery here..but if i could of saved her i would of i tried..so i understand you fight and don't give up..i now have a 3yr old chloe i bred her to keep the girl but she died at 3days old..she had a boy dead inside her..i kept samson and scooter is now renamed cody has a great home..from 1 yorkie lover to animal keep fighting and sending prayers your way..sashazx75 |

I just wanted to update on Layla again. She is still feeling fantastic! She's having no trouble eating her hard kibble again, and she's still hating being locked up in her crate all day but I keep telling her it's for the best! She really misses her bed at night, and last night for the second time she found it. Scott had expressed her and put her on her little rug in our room, and then got her crate to bring in. I was brushing my teeth and when I came back to the room, she wasn't there! I asked if she was in the office with him, but nope. He didn't close the door of her crate, so I looked under the bed and she was there, in her own bed that I had pushed under there to make room for her crate! I couldn't resist though, I pulled her bed out and let her lay in it for a bit until I heard her moving around, and she had left the bed, so it was back in the crate for the night! She also doesn't seem to be losing strength in her back legs with all this rest! Yesterday I was baking and she was in the kitchen with me in her crate. Scott was eating a banana and was going to give her a piece. He told her to lay down. She just looked at him. He told her again. Nope. A few more times.... then all of a sudden her back end popped up! Scott said "... or stand! Yes! Stand!" lol. She held it for a really long time! Later, Scott stood her up and pushed her side to side and she corrected it every time! So she's constricted to crate rest, getting no exercise or stimulation, and is STILL improving! |
Hooray for Layla! And, of course, you and Scott.:) |
Stand Layla stand!!! Way to go little one, please know that Winston and I (and of course a whole bunch of people) are hoping and praying for your health and well being. Waiting patiently for that miracle... |
OMG.....yes..."stand, Layla, stand"! That news does my heart such good....I just know she will keep getting better. My prayers will continue for you all, Linz. |
OMG that's so great!!!! Yes she's obviously getting stronger and now that you can see how much better she's going to be, it makes it all worth it doesn't it?!!! I'm so happy for you and Layla. :) xox |
Thank you, everyone :) We are done 2.5 weeks of crate rest now and Layla is now just being content. She's in her stroller beside my chair all day at work, and in her crate all evening and all night at home. She only cries when she's out of water! Her crate is in the kitchen while we're cooking, and in the living room when we're relaxing. We forget her in the kitchen sometimes and she's still just fine to lay there and sleep, without the tv interrupting her peace and quiet! Everything is going so smoothly this time around! |
I'm glad it is going smoothly. I suppose she's become somewhat accustomed to it as well. |
I'm glad to hear she's improving! Hope this continues :) |
I wish like facebook there was a LIKE button here! I'm so glad that Layla is being a good girl and is content with her mandatory rest. Makes it easier on her and you both! :) |
Layla is still being such a good girl! On Saturday night we had a Christmas party in the city so we stayed overnight at my grandma's house. My grandma wasn't home that night, but she got home the next day while we were out shopping. She has been on holidays for a few weeks so she didn't know anything about Layla's new crate rest so she did let her out of the crate. Luckily she said she slept most of the day on the area rug, but my grandma felt really bad and worried that she did more harm! I told her it was okay though and I'm sure it is... she's not acting any different! Today is 3 weeks down... 5 weeks to go! |
I am beginning to think Layla knows she's on crate rest.:D I'm glad all is going well with Layla. |
I'm so glad to hear Layla is feeling better! It seems like the three weeks have gone by fast! Praying her remaining five weeks go as well for her. |
Go Layla:) |
