The fact she did eat her later meal is a good sign.
It is not good to stay on the prednisone forever, and I think you may just have to trust your vet on this one. Maybe ask him about Mirtazapine for a short time while she is going through this. That medicine is unbelievable! I used it for a renal failure dog...and am not sure if it would be contraindicated with the prednisone, but worth asking about it.

i want you to ask your vet about Budesonide as this is safer than steroids and is being used in ibd and pancreatitis dogs with success -that's a steroid absorbed mainly in the intestines, unlike prednisone

the vet is actually trying to get her off steroids; that's why we are tapering the prednisone. we have to wait and see how she does off the steroid first.

I'll be there through June the 1st....Flying in for the Oklahoma Specialty, possibly show in Denton the weekend before, I think. But, if all goes well will be back for the Bluebonnet Specialty in September.

What about the one in Houston? Any chance you will be there this year? Not the Reliant one...the other you went to last year.

It is SO hard for me to get away...I am going to try to get up there, though. I could use a break!

I've attended the Houston Show once, not one of my favorites, hotel was a bit pricey...... The humidity alone was enough to make me sick.

Hahaa you just made me laugh out loud. I warn anyone who comes to visit me....it really IS rough. It is true that you kind of get used to it, though. BUT...I must say that these women down here who put long sleeves and sweaters on in the middle of summer drive me crazy. I don't think I will ever get that used to it.

Only being a Southerner by transplant....what really bothered me is I never knew how to keep my make-up from sliding to my knee-caps.....Those true Southern women are always so perfectly made-up.....
