Thanks guys! |
So sorry to hear that you and your babies are having to go through this. I hope all turns out ok. Best Wishes. |
How are your babies? Have they recovered? |
Our little guy who we adopted a month ago had bladder surgery last Tuesday, a week ago today. We think he is doing well. At least we hope so. He is going out every two or three hours and he urinates in three or four places. Is that normal? We go to get the sutures out next week. He cannot go through the night. He has to go out. We just got him, he's ten, so we don't know what is his condition and what is his habit. He wants to be held constantly and we have because we don't know if it is pain from the surgery, or if his owner who died just sat all day. Or, is he just scared, grieving ..... we just don't know. We are retired and home a lot, but not all the time. I have therapy dogs, belong to a quilting guild, have seven grands. So far we haven't left him alone at all. I want to go to some activities and shopping some times. Will I be able to, sometime? |

It will take time to know your boy, remember he has just lost his beloved companion. And yes you can go out especially as it sounds like two of you at home. In fact maybe take him with you on short jaunts. |
Little Spenser's last owner died about six weeks ago. He was in three foster homes in two weeks and spent one day having his teeth cleaned before we brought him home. The last owner had adopted him about a year before when his original family gave him up. When we took him to our vet to share the senior blood panel done at the cleaning, our vet was very concerned and did another. Two days later he had a bile acid test, and two days later an ultrasound. That was followed by an X-ray and bladder surgery two days later. He doesn't want to leave the house. We have a large fenced in yard, but after we put him down, he tends and wants to go in. We have to carry him until the stitches are removed he can't use the stairs. Is he grieving? In pain? We just don't know. We have two collies who accompany him out whenever he goes, even at 2am. I just don't understand small dogs, but I'm trying. |
