| my yorkie has been throwing up for 2 days My dog is a 1 yr old yorkie and has been weak and barfing since yesterday morning. The barf is now a thick foamy yellow. Yesterday morning he had a shower and after he barfed clear water with black stringlike stuff in it. He also has diarrhea (twice yesterday) He still walks around and barks occasionally but not as much as usual. Hes not as active as usual and lays down on this side but not like he does normally. The most unusual thing is that he keeps flicking his head and rubbing it against his blanket and our furniture. Today he only ate one dried chicken breast from Costco but just threw it up. He's scaring me so much because hes just laying there with no energy whatsoever. Please help me! I was going to take him to the vet today but he seemed better in afternoon but started barfing again tonight after he ate the chicken. PS. I'm new here, my name is Amy TIA everyone! | Knoa Bean Hi and welcome to YT.. I cannot stress enough how much you need to get your baby to the VET....................... They can get dehydrated quickly and what your describing could be something like Pancreatitis that can be deadly. You cannot take chances with these little guys. If ther is an emergency vet in your area you need to take him now... tomorrow he will be worse. have you taken his temp?? rectally ?? if it is more than 101 you must take him tonite. try to get some water into him, will he drink?? does he throw it up too? What does his stool look like in color does it look like normal?? what did the black stuff look like?? stringy, clumpy or what? for sure if the temp is elevated he neds to see the vet tonite!!!! PLEASE let us know what you find out..... Sharon

| still think you need to contact an ER VET TONIGHT....... you might be sorry if you don't.... sorry to scare you but it dosen't take long for yorkies to go bad because they are so small............ let us know......the black stuff really concerns me as it could be blood....... if the stool was black like tar you need to be ON THE ROAD TO THE VET RIGHT NOW>>>>> that would mean internal bleding.. if you still have the stool, take it with you on a ziplock bag, the throw up TOO~~~~~!!!1 more for the vet to use to determine what the prob is..

| Please keep us updated on Kona Bean. I hope all goes well at the vets. I know how quickly they can go downhill - Twinkle had a virus not too long ago and had sickness and diarhoea. I had her at the vets immediately and thankfully it was easily treated with antibiotics - but she lost almost a pound in weight because she was off her food for a few days. Luckily she's a big yorkie - if she had been tiny it could have been really dangerous. Thinking of you and Kona Bean xxx

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | This baby needs to see a vet asap, and I hope you did bring him in. This could be an ear issue too w/ the flicking of the head and vomiting. If it's an ear infection and is causing this much of a problem - you need to get him treated ASAP before the ear canal is destroyed. PLEASE update us.

| Please update us.... Also, that chicken treat from Costco - Waggin Train - there have been many, many, many sick reports all over the net (you can google) - That stuff comes from China - After I learned about all the reports, I returned all my *stock pile* bags of it to Costco and never again buy anything from China |

| Hi everyone! Sorry for not being able to update and keeping you worried! I was busy with school but I'm happy to tell you he just came home this afternoon. He was being treated for dehydration and had to stay overnight. The vet said it might have been something he ate that made him throw up which caused him to not want to eat or drink and make him even worst. She has no idea why hes flicking his ears and rubbing his face into things though. Thank you everyone for your concern and prayers! When he's well again I'll post his pic and introduce him to you guys! Amy |
