| New Flea med CAPSTAR? FYI on new product for fleas.... Does anybody know anything about this flea med? CAPSTARŪ (nitenpyram) is an orally administered tablet that provides fast flea relief. In fact, CAPSTAR starts working within 30 minutes. A single dose of CAPSTAR should kill the adult fleas on your pet. If your pet get reinfested, it is safe to give another dose as often as once per day. You will literally see fleas falling off your pet. CAPSTAR is also remarkably safe. CAPSTAR is Clean CAPSTAR is an orally administered tablet. So there's no odor or messy application on your pet or in your home. Plus, oral tablet formulations provide protection that can't rub or wash off. CAPSTAR is safe for puppies and kittens four weeks and older, weighing two pounds or greater, as well as for pregnant or nursing dogs and cats. You can safely give a dose of CAPSTAR as often as once per day. CAPSTAR is Effective CAPSTAR starts working within 30 minutes. $19.99 for 6 @ entirelypets.com How would it compare, say to something like ADVANTAGE (not as a preventative but given when a yorkie has fleas)? |

| Capstar is a good product when your pet has fleas... it will kill all the fleas on them within an hour or so... I have used it... waited a few hours and then scrubbed the dogs with dawn dish soap and they will be flea free. However, you will still need to do something to prevent them if it is happening a lot.

| Capstar is a quick fix! It kills the fleas from the inside out! but you still need to have your baby on preventative, fiona is on Revolution, and it works great!

| Some vets are pushing this instead of the topical...recommending that we give our pets this once per month? I saw this at Banfield. Note: I no longer go to Banfield

I am currently using this on my Miracle, the vet says it's birth control for fleas, and is safe to use every day if needed. I looked into it to make sure it was safe and they have found no adverse reactions. It's great to use if your baby is allergic to the topical..i.e. advantage.
