wow glad he is okay just so you know my vet said if they have one allergic reaction they will have another so ask for an allergy shot before he gets more vaccines

in regards to bordatella does your dog go to dog parks, doggy day care, groomer, etc? as a vet tech on our other group does not give bordatella to her dogs and just treats if they get kennel cough as the bordatella shot nor intranasal does not cover all strains so they can still get it even if vaccinated. If you are not doing the above things i really would not do that vaccination anymore - also since your dog has reacted like this look into titering instead of vaccinating and rabies is the only one required by law every 3 years - other vaccines should not be given more than every 3 years either after 1 year booster

dogs with reactions like this I would go real conservative with vaccinations and maybe your vet can give you a waiver for rabies vaccination as well so ask about that

the next vaccination can be worse just heads up

This is my first post here ,but I am a breeder (another breed) and a groomer who USED to be a vet tech. If he has had ONE reaction he will have another and it will be worse. I would discuss titres instead of shots with the vet. My dog, a maltese/yorkie mix, that has reactions gets NO vaccines. I do not want to lose him!

Well he will be taken to a groomer because I cant do anything with him. Now Bells my other yorkie will sit still thru just about anything you want to do clip nails, clean ears, brush, shave butt. But MichaelAngelo doesnt want you to do those things he is a very nervous dog. I hate to take him to groomer as I do Bells myself. But things need to be done and he moves around like your killing him before you even do anything he is hard to hold still. He does fine getting a bath but that is the only thing I can do with him. I have Multiple Sclerosis and cant really hold to him as he moves about. Vet said he will grow out of that as he gets use to us. I got him at the first of December so we will see.

Another thing. I am asking more advice. Should I give him any more Benadryl later on if he still itchy? If so how long do I wait?

What is titres? Never heard of this.

ask vet but benedryl lasts about 8hrs in system as i had given it for hives in my dog but she gets agitated from it so we have to use temarilp with her. Did vet give your dog dexamothesone shot when you took him in ? or did they say to continue with benedryl? I would call and ask them what to do when benedryl wears off
