Sorry I did not post yesterday. When I got home from work around 1pm Lola always greets me at the door. She was not there and a horrible smell of bleach, I looked and she was on her side on her couch not even lifting her head and watery brown diarrhea, I grabbed her an ran to Dr Hawthorn, he ran some blood work and said her sugar was low due to the exsessive diarrhea. We gave her nutracal and she seemed to perk up a little. She is much better alert as I speak, still not eating much or drinking and had 3 or 4 times up with her last night with this diarrhea. Thanks so much for your support. We just have to get thru this hump with the Sporanox. Prayers are wonderful. |
Keeping you both in my thoughts and prayers.... |
My heart goes out to you both. Will continue to hold Lola and you in my thoughts and prayers. |
My heart goes out to you and Lola.:( You are in my prayers for a speedy recovery. |

So far in all of this Lola has never dehydrated. I am sure that if she were doing so the vet would have perhaps discussed this option. |
i hope she's better now; did the vet give some meds to stop the diaherra. poor baby |

I'm sure he would, as he taught me and others how to SubQ and also provided us with everything to take home with us. |

Oh Lissette, I am just now reading this. I am so sorry Lola is going through this. I will be sending prayers your way! Sounds like you have a wonderful doctor. I hope she gets to feeling better soon! Hugs, Renee |
My goodness!!!! This thread has gotten totally out of control. LOL Lissette....Lola is what (and ALL) that matters, you are a great Mommy and I know she is in the best hands! I would stick with your Vet, I know people mean well, but they also have personal vendettas that have nothing to do with you and Lola's situation. I really dont think our opinions matter here. We should be offering support to you, not arguing about means of treatment! You are doing the right thing and I KNOW Your doctors are top notch! Love to you & give Miss Lola hugs and kisses! :) |

I know you are doing everything you can to save her and Lola is very lucky to have you. Big Hug to both of you. |
Hi Lissette, Haven't posted much but have been keeping up with you and Lola daily. Although things are difficult and I know it's hard on you as well as Lola, hang in there. You and Doc H are taking great care of her. I didn't get a chance to meet him, but he did do a teeth cleaning on CJ after doing the blood work and checking him out completely. I never had a worry knowing it was Dr. Hawthorne taking care of my beautiful boy. Keeping you and Lola in my prayers. |

Yep...coming back in my next life as your pup! :D |
Update on My Girl Lola, Took her off Sporanox on friday, Per my vet, to see if she would start eating. Well Sat she ate about a quarter size all day and little water off my finger the thru it up and had diarrhea. On sunday she ate nothing and only drank a little if my fingers where touching her lips. I took her in first thing this morning to Dr Hawthorne, He took her back and is keeping her today for IV fluids. Just called and his nurse said they had to give her Plasma because her protein level is very low and her liver functions are the same as last monday. She took Sporonox for 14 days and I saw her decline. I think it just like Chemo. I just cant lose my friend. I am at a lose. Dont mean to upset anyone but I love this little girl with all my heart and it just kills me to see her sick. I hope these Iv and Plasma will bring her back so we can resume treatment and be done with this awful fungus..Please pray for my little girl....Love all of you ......Lissette |
