Can I do anything to help my dying lil puppy?
 

Hello all, you have seen my Brooklyns little puppies in picutres I posted.

But my little boy puppy has turned for the worst very fast in the last few hours. He had finally hit the 4 oz mark after a week at 3.5 oz...so it is a huge disappointment to see this.

He is constantly gagging with fluid coming out of his nose......the vet said that there is nothing we can do but continue to tube feed him as we had..and just pray for the best..about every 4 hours with 4mL formula.
He said it was most likely just a failure to flourish....and couldnt describe what was wrong

I just feel there should be something more I can do.....its so sad to see this happen. But I understand if there is nothing I can do.....just want as many opinions as possible.

I don't have any suggestions but wanted to say that he is in my thoughts and prayers. Just keep tube feeding and hopefully he will continue to be a fighter.

My heart goes out to you. I know exactly what you're going through, how hard you're trying, and how your heart is breaking.

We had this happen and the puppy was autopsied and it had malformed internal organs. It was just mother nature's way. Failure to thrive is about as specific as they can be, sadly.

There are the joys of breeding and then there are the sorrows. Love him up while he's here but don't give up hope.

Aww This is so sad. The only thing you can do is keep feeding it and make sure it stays warm. Im sure your doing every thing you can.I will pray for him.

Im so sorry about his health. I think all you can do is be hopeful, pray and give him lots of lovin'. I will keep him in my prayers.

I am so sorry to hear this i do not have any advice for you but i will keep you in my prayers.

THANK YOU ALL - But unfortunately just an hour ago I took him to the Emergency Vet and found out he has Pneumonia and they said it was a matter of hours before he died.

I made the toughest decision of my life and put him to sleep - he was suffering so bad - and he deserved better. A week and a half fight with this and it ended like this. I haven't stopped crying for 8 hours now. I hope he can forgive me. He was a fighter til the end and he will never be forgotten. Hope Brooklyn understands.

There is nothing that you have done that he needs to forgive you for. You have prevented him from pain and suffering. It was your responsibility to do the very best that you could do for him and you did all that was humanly possible. The rest was up to God. Now He is holding your puppy and that little fellow doesn't feel pain or sickness any longer.

Ah, I'm sorry, You did what you had to do. He knows how hard you tried to save him and nurse him to health. He is at The RB smiling down on you, for all your love. ;)

I am so very sorry about your loss, sending Yorkiehugs your way. He has many friends at the Rainbow Bridge and will be waiting there for you.

You all sure know how to make someone feel better. Thank you so much. I'm just so sad and with this being my first yorkie pups - It's even harder. He was loved and ALWAYS will be. Thank you all for the very nice thoughts and prayers - we appreciate it.

My Maggie also has Pneumonia
 

I'm so sorry to hear about you baby, My Maggie has also been diagnosed with pneumonia 3 days ago and has been hospitalized during the day for IV fluids. Her glucose keeps dropping. I don't know what else to do.

:cry: you did what you thought was best for him. that was very brave of you and i know it wasnt easy but its not fair for him to suffer that way..

I am sorry to hear about your baby.
You did what is best..I have had to do it many times and hate it, but I can not bare suffering. At least we can stop it in these cases. Best wishes

So sorry to hear about the little one but he is no longer suffering. Hold him in your heart until you can hold him in your arms again someday at the RB.
