To the original OP I am so happy your puppy is showing signs of improvement. |

It is sad the breeder is blamed most of the time and it could be at one time or another the breeders fault if they know before had but taking a new puppy home changing its habits its diet right away to me is a huge no no a puppies diet needs to be changed over a period of 2 weeks there are so many that claim to be dog savvy and have not a clue on a puppy it needs its rest it needs time to adjust to its new surroundings and feeding schedule it is a baby even adult dog sometimes take longer to adjust to a new home new breeder old breeder we learn about the things we need to watch for and be very pedicular to whom we sell to i do not like to see any puppy with cocci or any other health issue but it happens and even if you explain to the new puppy owner everything and give them loads of material to read and learn about some just go home and do what they see fit anyway but i truly hope this little puppy op has a very long healthy life and i am so sorry you have had such a long hard road to hoe with this baby |

I know that traveling to to shows and putting my seasoned dogs in a new environment, the first night they won't eat......They're with me, but it's a new location, not familiar with....however, mild it maybe it is still stressful...away from their normal routine. |
Things happen and thats all there is to it. Breeders could go through a long list of the what if's and this and that. ALL BREEDERS eventually have problems with their litters and so on. I have said enough, wonderful world of internet:rolleyes: |

And the issues I bring up are part of the problem concerning BYB's and puppymills, because neither do the RIGHT WORK for a healthy representation of the breed. |
To the OP I pray that all things work out well for you and your :aimeeyork baby! |
I never said all parasites are related to neglect or filthy conditions. I am saying that most BACK YARD BREEDERS don't have a clue to what health conditions their Dams, Sires, or litters are in. It is obvious. There are too many sick puppies and not all of them come from puppymills. There are too many uninformed people who get their puppies from BYB's, thinking they are reputable ones. Some BYB's can appear to be reputable, but if you really grind them on the history of their breeding business and pay attention you can save yourself a lot of money, headaches, and heartaches as well. And the issues I bring up are part of the problem concerning BYB's and puppymills, because neither do the RIGHT WORK for a healthy representation of the breed.
Then maybe you should open a new thread. To the op. I am happy to hear your baby is getting a bit better! I will be praying for a speedy recovery!!!:) |

That is great! That is what is needed to be done...educate new parents of furbabies. I have no interest in breeding, but I am beginning to have serious interest in informing people of the pro's and con's of looking for the right puppy, and to work with bringing down puppymills. |

You are right. Everyone, I am sorry for ranting. I just get so upset when new puppy owners go through these things with their new found love. They don't even get to enjoy the first week bringing their baby home in peace :( |

by hijacking it she has a sick baby and it needs to be about her baby |

First of all define Byb. and then tell me how you know that they do not know what condition their dogs are in. It does not matter who the breeder is, any puppy has the potential to be infested with coccidia for all of the reasons that have been previously stated. These buyers that are buying from disreputable breeders are doing so because the dogs are cheaper, or because reputable breeders will not sell to them. If they took the time to ask questions other than "how much" they would be able to distinguish between good breeders and bad breeders. But when they are only concerned with the price they do not ask any other questions. |
What wonderful news to read. Poor little one has been through so much. Hat's off to your vet. He's seems really dedicated:thumbup: Glad she is doing so well. Hugs, |
