2. Eddie was content to spend the first hour or so in his crate. Interesting, because he's never been crate trained.
3. Eddie heard the phone ring, barked and made his way out of the crate.
4. Jillie ran to her big brother for help from the shaved creature that used to be her brother. :p
Love these pics!!! So happy to hear Eddie is home and doing well!!!

OMG!:eek: Just seeing this thread... hope Eddie's doing well. He looked great in the pics! I had my own personnal crisis before Thanksgiving (the only reason I would miss being here on YT!) So glad to hear all turned out well! Miss Jillie is such a hoot! Prayers for a speedy recovery and return to Agility... Kathy

Thanks, everybody, for the kind words! Today is Day 6 since surgery, and he's doing very well.

Hardest part is his restlessness and penchant to lick. We've learned you can't give him an inch or he'll take a mile. We've been firm with keeping the e-collar on when he's not directly supervised, and we don't let him overdo it as he's getting more comfortable using the leg again.

The little sneak walked up the doggie steps to the couch today with no hesitation. The scary part is he looks like he wants to jump off things, like the couch or even bed, so we keep him leashed even there. I cracked up last night. I came home from work late and Eddie wasn't in his x-pen, so I panicked a little. I knew he was in bed with his mama but she'd be asleep and he'd be wanting to greet me. Sure enough, when I went in there, he was standing on the bed ready to jump. Fortunately, that was as far as he could go. Kelly had the good sense to leash him to her arm before she fell asleep. ;)

Feeling better today about his prospects than I have all week! Thanks for the healing thoughts! They're working.

Here he is proving he can chew a bully stick with an e-collar on. Of course, I had to rescue it from the funnel shortly after this. ;)

And no teasing about the pink blankie. He and Jillie are taking turns in the X-pen.

Eddie looks good, Mike. The shaved leg takes some getting used to, doesn't it? I'm glad it's only one leg for him - when Reb had surgery, the vet had him shaved from the "waist" down and both legs! He looked positively weird until I was able to have his hair cut really short so it could all grow in at the same rate.

I'm glad Eddie is doing so well - Jillie is just precious!
