Eddie will be in my thoughts and prayers also. Such a hard thing to go through for all involved. I will be looking for your update and hoping for a super fast recovery for Eddie as I know he doesn't have time to sit around:) |

But...all I am trying to say is that I will bet Eddie does really well! Yorkies are tough little critters!:) |
So sorry about little Eddie..........hope all goes well with the surgery! Sending positive thoughts and prayers for the entire family! Give Eddie a gentle belly rub from me! |
I will keep Eddie in my prayers. Years ago I had a male yorkie, Zorro who tore his ACL and I remember a bandage on but no cast and he was down for a day or two but after that was able to walk on it. Yorkies are so resilient. |
Keeping Eddie and his family in my thoughts and prayers. |
Any word on Eddies surgery? |
Poor Eddie. My Myshkha had the same surgery when she was 11years old and had to be confined for 12 weeks. Poor old girl didn't like it much as she never liked being crated. Hope everything goes well. |
Update Thanks, everybody, for the warm wishes and insight. I appreciate it. Just an update. I dropped him off at 7 a.m. (It's 1 p.m. now). I don't expect to hear back until 4 or 5. They had to do X-rays, bloodwork, then I'm not sure where he was in line for surgery. I'll try to post something when I hear anything, but don't panic. I'm working tonight and may not have a lot of time to post. The plan is for my wife to pick him up around 5 and take him to Pet Emergency for the night. Surgeon wanted to keep him in his office, but it's not staffed from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. I wasn't comfortable with that. Rather than bring him home to the curiousity of Jillie and Rusty, I arranged to leave him where he'll have 24-hour care. I'll pick him up tomorrow morning. Oh, and one of those things that make you crazy: He's been limping 99.9 percent of the time for 11 days, but wouldn't you know it today he started putting weight on it. He went outside to poop and was occasionally walking on four legs. Then at the vet's office, he was actually pulling on his leash to see the tech. Still, he was limping 75 percent of the time, so I went through with it. I just want to take away the pain. |
Figures, as soon as I gave you my previous update, the vet called. Surgery is complete. It went well, and he's recovering. He said he found what he suspected: a torn cranial cruciate and a meniscus. He said everything went perfectly. That's all I know for now. Thanks again for the well-wishes! |
Eddie will be in my prayers and You as well. I know how hard it is to have to go through that with your fur baby! |
Whew...glad that is over and now everyone can breath....thanks for the update and Eddie here is a big  for you. I know it will hurt a little bit but soon you will be racing around again. The only bad part Eddie is that while you are gone Ms. Jillie will be stealing all of your toys and bed. The only one you can trust is Rusty. |
I will keep Eddie in my prayers, I'm glad the surgery went well! |
Healing prayers for Eddie. He will be in good hands overnight, that's great that he's going to be where someone can watch him. Now, you & momma try and get a good nights sleep, ok? |
Keep us updated...Glad to hear everything went well... |
Thanks, everybody, for the kind thoughts! I've been stuck at work, but Kelly's been checking in. She picked him up around 3:30 and took him over to pet emergency, where he'll spend the night. She said he was heavily sedated but recognized her. At pet emergency, they said he was starting to act uncomfortable so they were checking with the surgeon to see when he could get some more meds. I'm feeling helpless, but he's in good hands. They said I could pick him up as early as 6 a.m. tomorrow, and that's when I'm planning on being there. :) |
