Please pray for me, i lost my baby wednesday
 

After reading and conversing with dozens of yorkie owners on this site, I took my 2 pound sick yorkie to vet and as per your recommendations, demanded they give him a bile acid test. It came back through the ceiling so they sent me to specialist. Our appointment was on Monday. The surgeon "convinced" us that Hootie had to have this surgery (liver shunt) in order to live as he was already exhibiting signs of liver damage. So they KEPT him Monday and his surgery was Tuesday morning. Tuesday afternoon I got the call that Hootie came through surgery just fine and if he continued to do well, he could come home Thursday instead of Friday (yesterday). THEN on Wednesday morning, Dr Murphy called and told me that "Hootie had had a bad morning". OK, so I thought they were gonna have to keep him for another day or so. Then he proceeds to tell me that at 6:30 AM, Hootie began to lose his body heat and then began having trouble breathing. Then he stopped breathing. A Dr Green and nursing staff worked on him, got him breathing again and stablized but critical. Then about 40 minutes later, same thing, he quit breathing and they worked on him then his heart stopped. They said he died instantly after that. I have not eaten since then, only taking meds to keep me knocked out as I cannot deal with the pain. I got laid off work the first of the year and as such Hootie was with me every MINUTE of EVERY day. If I went to the store, he went to the store, if I went to the mall, he did too and rode in his little red stroller. Now my life has ended and I have no clue what to do... I feel so lost.... PLEASE PRAY FOR ME......

Im so sorry for you and yes I will pray for you....Your baby is in a good place, just keep telling yourself that, and that you did all you could for him. You gave him love in his short little life. And when its our time to go, isnt it better to go knowing we are loved. Hang in there.

I am so sorry for your loss. I can't even imagine what you are going through. I will remember you in my prayers. Just try to keep in your mind that your little baby is not suffering and that you did everything you could to help him. I am sure he knew how much you loved him.

Liver shunt can be a scarey disease. His poor little body was very sick before the surgery and he was just so small. You are a great Momma and you took care of him the best that you could. You saw him very sick and just wanted him to get better, I know you love him dearly and trust me, he knows too and he loves you back very much. God has plans for all of us, including our precious furbabies. I know the pain and the guilt and the heart hurt you are feeling right now seems like it will never end, but you will one day find peace, your memories and your love will put a smile on your face soon. And maybe one day when you feel the time is right, you can open your heart and home to another furbaby....Again, I am so very sorry :(

How very sad, my heart breaks for you.
Your little one is flying with the angels now and at peace, I hope you will find come peace and comfort soon. With time, you will remember the good times and smile once again.

Yes, I am saying prayers for you and that life gets better for you too. I hope that if you have not found a job yet, that one opens up for you soon.

Sometimes, it is better to get up and get out into the world and get lost in the hub bub of life when we have such a terrible loss.

Just some suggestions, but when you feel a bit better, maybe volunteering at the local animal shelter, where you can help with rehab and pets who are going to be placed might be a good place to start. A no kill shelter would be better if there is one nearby.

At one of our local shelters, they allow people to place the dogs on leashes and go for walks and to be groomed and played with so that they will be more likely to be friendly and chosen by folks who qualify!

3 years ago in the fall of the year, we lost our dog to cancer in October, my father died in November and my very favorite cat had to be put to sleep due to cancer the following January.
Going to the pet store and petting the babies, was what helped get me through it and it is how I found my Abby :)

Not that I am pushing pet store dogs and cats, but it is free to go and snuggle with them for a few and it sure gives me an uplift! :) They also have dogs and cats from the local shelter there for adoption.

I am so sorry your baby has passed. You did every thing you could to get him better I know that doesn't help right now. I hope you can find a job but in the mean time, once you are feeling up to it you may find another baby to help ease your heartache will help. Hugs
