I am so glad Missy is home where she can be comfortable and with those who love her. I will keep her in my prayers. |
I am glad to hear that you were able to bring Missy home and I will continue to pray for her to recover, and to allow you many more happy days together. |
I'm glad your baby is home where she belongs and is eating for you, i hope it's a sign great improvement. Enjoy the times with her |
I am so glad that you were able to bring Missy home where she can be comfortable and surrounded by love. All we can ever do is take it a day at a time. Enjoy each day we have with our furbabies. It just never seems long enough. Missy knows how very much you love her. You are a wonderful "mommy". I will continue to keep Missy, you and your family in my prayers for as long as you need. Please take care and may God Bless. |
Hi all, Missy has been home for two days now. She seems very weak, I can feel her bones on her bum and along her spine. Her appetite is not that good, sometimes she eats her chicken and sometimes she turns her face away. But in general, she seems comfortable. she is sleeping and resting most of the time, but she is totally alert, and absolutely melts my heart when she looks at me with those round black eyes. she is soooo cute. It's really hard for me to contain myself and not squeeze her really really hard in my arms every two minutes :) Today, for the first time, she actually WALKED to her favorite potty spot as opposed to being CARRIED. She is such a TROOPER. the only major problem i'm having with her is making her take her pills! Such a struggle. I hide them in chicken, cheese, you name it, she just spits them out! She's always been somewhat stubborn, but I need to figure out how to trick her. Any pointers? Thanks. |
My Cody got like that and I started using tiny bits of Hostess Cinnamon Streusel cakes. Probably not all that healthy, but such a tiny piece and he loved it! I just would take a bit and mold it around the pills. |
What wonderful news to read Missy is home. What a little trooper she is too. I am sure she will do better being in her own environment, getting the love from her family and seeing her siblings. None of us know how much time we have here on the planet so take one day at a time and just enjoy her presence. Business as usuall. Don't worry about tomorrow just enjoy today. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours. Missy is home for Thanksgiving,:p Hugs, |
Can you crush her pills When I had to give Abby pills recently, I crushed them and put it in with a little piece of cheese until it was gone. She took it right away. Things may just not taste that great to Missy so this may not work. I know she is much more comfortable in her loving home. I will continue to keep her and you in my prayers. |
I have tried peanut butter, steak, chicken, bread, cake, catfood, cheese....none of these work. right now she doesn't have much appetite and 99% of the time she turns her face. so this is what I've been doing: I open the capsules and mash up the tablets, then mix them up with some wet food, then put the food in a syringe and squirt it in her mouth. that's how I have been force-feeding her too. she's not eating on her own http://www.maltesetalk.com/forums/im...lies/frown.gif Last night for the first time she tapped my leg to give her some of my steak. I was sooooo excited to see that. Protein is not the best thing for her , but the vet told me ANY food is better than no food. so I gave her a few little pieces and she seemed soooo happy http://www.maltesetalk.com/forums/im...lies/smile.gif |
Im having a major issue with Missy now: She has not pooped since she came home. I don't know if she did in the hospital at all, but since monday tht she's been home she's not pooping. I called the vet and he said if she doesn't do it by tomorrow I should bring her in for an enema. Any suggestions?? |
I don't really have an answer for your question. If there isn't much going in there just isn't much coming out. It was that way with my Missy. I just really wanted you to know that I'm still thinking about you and praying for you! |
Missy is such a trooper..... We give a little cut up cooked green beans for fiber to soften the stools that our vet suggested. At least she's comfortable being home and in loving arms. Praying for her too. |
sending prayers your way I just want to say I totally know what you are feeling many years ago when I was just a loving pet owner I had a yorkiepoo named nico and he was suffering and I spent so many thousands of dollars just to give him that extra chance at survival but it got to the point I had to let him go and boy was it hard I think if I was rich and knew he was not in pain I would have wanted to keep him hanging on for ever so like you said love her and spend as much time with her telling her how important she is and that way if it is her time she will leave with happiness in her heart because you have spent the last days expressing nothing but pure happiness and love and believe me when I tell you she has lived a long life I would love for my babies to reach her age. Consider your baby a lucky little girl who got to see and endure so much love in her life because sometimes when faced with the unmentionable we forget about the things we should be grateful for and that is life being able to live love and share with everyone our love and you are right kiss your other fur babies we have to show love every chance we get because we never know when it will be time I am sorry for the long post also I am sending a special prayer for you and your fur baby ...God please give this baby and her family the emotional strength to handle what ever plan you have for them Amen |
I am praying fir Missy. Can you ask the vet to give you the medicines in a liquid form so you can syringe it in to her mouth. Mine have done that when I had a very sick dog. Sometimes you have to go to a regular pharmacy to get it but it is much easier to give them their medicine. Hugs |
I hope things take a positive turn for your Missy. I'm so sorry you are going through this. This is my worst fear. You'll be in my thoughts and prayers.:hug::hug::hug::hug: |
