He is right around 7 pounds give or take a few ounces. The surgeon is board certified and it is a great facility. It was just too much for him! He was fine the next day! Actually, I was happy that they are a bit aggressive with pain meds because I think too many vets undermedicate. Dogs are known for hiding pain...it is a protective measure. |

I am just seeing that you found the culprit. Thank God you found it and they are both doing better. |
Just read all the update's Judy, and wow thank you for letting us all know. I read this to my husband. He is not on patches but just the information is good for other's and I see Deb saying how easy it can really happen. anne |
Judy I haven't been on much lately and was looking for a update on Kandi, my heart sunk when I saw Gizmo was sick also, but thank God they are both okay and doing better, I hate that he got sick also, but now you know what happen with Kandi, Big hugs to all of you! |
Thank you ladies. I can't tell you how much that means to me. To Ladyjane and Kalina82... That's what they acted like...really really stoned or drunk. Gizmo was also drooling badly and had his tongue hanging out. I don't think they had any idea what was going on. I think the biggest concern for the vets was the very slow heart rate. It kept getting slower and slower until they were given Atropine. |
Judy I swear my heart skipped a beat when I read the title of this thread...oh my goodness I was so scared for you and your little ones. Yep, those patches can cause wicked side effects in an adult human (I've seen it with my own 2 eyes) I can only imagine, your thoughts, your fears for first Kandi and then Gizmo as well. We must all be so very careful with any and all medications...I stand over the sink even to take a vitamin...because if it hits the floor Winston is so quick, I'm sure he'd grab it before I had time to tell him to "leave it"!!! Hugs to you, girlfriend..kisses to Gizmo and Kandi!!! |

So scary! Im glad both of your babies are better now!!! Hugs to you and your hubby and big kisses to the furbutts!!! |
Thank you so much! They are back to their awesome, playful selves. :D They still want to be fed by hand, but you know how that goes! LOL! |
I'm so happy it has all turned out ok. This is a good lesson to everybody. I once found my schnauzer chewing on a blood pressure patch that fell off my DH by the swimming pool. Didn't have any ill effects, but made us extra cautious after that. |
Wow. How frightening. I'm so glad that things have worked out well for Khandi and Gizmo. Also glad everything is back to normal for you... I guess a little hand feeding is worth the trouble!!!!;) We all like to be a little spoiled now and then (even our furbabies!). |
Judy, I'm just seeing this! I'm so glad they're going to be ok, and that you figured out so quickly what had happened! |
What a scary thing to go threw. Glad your story has a happy ending. Hugs to all of you, |
wow how scary.. :(.. Im happy to hear that they are both doing better.. |
