Oh Judy praying for Kandi and hope she pulls through this. We prayed for Gizmo remember? He pulled through and so is Kandi.:( |
We are sending you our thoughts and prayers for little Kandi. |
How scary...could it be snake or spider bite? |
I'm so glad she's doing better. Medication always scares me, it so easy for one to bounce on the floor. |
Oh Judy.. I am sorry this has happened to kandie... please know she is in my thoughts and prayers.. I will watch for updates... Pills worry me so much also.. and it could be you never find out.. |
I'm so happy to hear she is doing better! Keeping your family in our prayers! |
So sorry you have had to go through this but glad to hear Kandi is doing better. Hoping she makes a speedy recovery and is back to bouncing around your house in no time at all. |
Glad Kandi is doing better. Pixie had a similar reaction to lawn fertilizer that we didn't know the landscapers had put down, any chance she was exposed to something like that. Pixie was fine after some er treatment. I will keep her in my prayers. |
Judy saying prayers for little Kandi, and your whole family, please keep us updated. I am so glad she is doing better. |
Checking in to see if Kandi is still doing better... my thoughts are with you and your family! |
Judy...what a scare for you! I'm so sorry Kandi had problems, but so glad that she is doing better. I will say a prayer that she fully recover quickly. Hugs to you! |
I am so happy to hear Kandi is home with you and feeling better. I will say a prayer that her night is uneventful and she is fine! |
Update! Kandi is continuing to do much better, but Gizmo suddenly started the exact same symptoms around 9pm, so we rushed him to the ER vet. They also checked Kandi out again, and she's continuing to improve. The vet at the ER went through a list of our medications and looked all of the symptoms up. Well, her research all pointed to them getting hold of one of John's Fentanyl patches. It's for his chronic, severe pain issues. He is always very careful to flush his used patches, but this time he didn't. He was in a hurry and just threw it in the trash. We still weren't sure until we got home and searched the house. We found a patch that had doggie chew marks on it under the bed. John feels terrible, but with his chronic pain and fatigue, I completely understand. The ER vet treated Gizmo with fluids under his skin and atropin (like they did for Kandi). He's tired, but doing better now. We don't know why it took him six hours longer than Kandi to show symptoms, except that he weighs several pounds more than she does. Whew....at least we have the answer now. So, the moral of this story is that if you know anyone who uses medication administered through patches, watch out! Their is still enough medication on a used patch to poison your pets. Thank you all for your prayers and support. I'll update again in the morning. |
Oh my, you guys have really been through it these last two days! I am just so glad that you have figured it out and they are treating them. Bra'Tac is just like that, he wants to get into everything, especially if it is in the trash can. I am just so glad that you got them to the ER vet. Hopefully now you all can just sit back and relax the rest of the weekend! Keeping all of you in my thoughts and prayers. |
Wow what an evening you had. Judy I am so sorry, please keep us updated. Sending lots of Hugs and Kisses. |
