Thanks for the advice on keeping her dry. The vet stressed that too. She doesn't go outside just yet to potty we have been using pee pads and had big plans to start going outside since my son went back to school and we are on a better schedule. We will probably put that off until she is better. I hope that will help keep her dry. She is resting now and later I will put her in her crate for a more peaceful rest. Thanks everyone! Ashlee |
Thanks for the update! We are all pulling for little Fiona to heal as quickly as possible. Bless her little heart, a splint on her tiny foot! |
Thanks for the update. Hoping for a full recovery. |

Ashlee, I am so glad to hear that your little one is on the mend. I hope she has a speedy full recovery. And on a lighter note :lol tears The condom thing is a fantastic idea, BUT..... I hope this silver headed chubby old lady never has to deal with a broken Yorkie foot. I can just see me trying to select condoms, I have no experience with them so do you get the colored or flavored kind or the ones that have ridges so they will have traction?:rolleyes::rolleyes: |

That is a wonderful idea. Makes sense, but I have never in my life had to buy a condom and will probably not this time. I will more than likely make her a cover from vinyl. I make dog clothes for a living and have plenty of material here to come up with a cover that is water proof. Maybe one not so embarassing!! Very creative! lol! My dad is the pastor of our local church and he lives right across the creek from us. I am not sure I want to have that conversation with him when he comes to visit Fiona today!! We have a good relationship but that really isn't something I want to talk about!!! I will let you know what I come up with and may even post a picture if anyone is interested!! Thanks again for all the thoughts, we have a long way to go before this is over. Thanks Ashlee |
http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/alb...?dl=1251675765 Prototype for Fionas protective sock over her split. It is made of vinyl. Not the prettiest color but it is all I had here. I will try to get a more stylist color or pattern on my next trip to the fabric store. They clothes I make do not usually call for vinyl!! But I think it will work. She can go out in the grass and stay dry and I think it will even work if she spills her water dish. It will at least give me a little piece of mind and I won't worry quite as much that some how she will get wet. If anyone has any suggestions I would love to hear them! Anyone out there do anything similar? Ashlee |
