Sending prayer for Mitsy and your family. |
I was looking for information on leptospoiroisis and came across some interesting info: Humans can contract leptospirosis and any potentially infected animal should be handled very carefully to avoid human exposure.(Leptospirosis in Dogs) I did not not this. For those of you that do not know how it is contracted I found this out for myself since I didn't know either: Leptospirosis is transmitted between animals through contact with infected urine; venereal and placental transfer; bite wounds; or the ingestion of infected tissue. Crowding, as found in a kennel, can increase the spread of infection. Indirect transmission occurs through exposure of susceptible animals to contaminated water sources, food, or even bedding. Stagnant or slow moving water provides a suitable habitat for Leptospira. As a result, disease outbreaks often increase during periods of flooding. In dry areas infections are more common around water sources.(Leptospirosis in Dogs) Just sharing what I found out.:) ~Joanne~ |
Just wanted to let you all know that I just recieved word from the specialist at iowa state. And she said that she is in critical care.. And she said it's not looking good. Her kidneys are failing and she has internal bleeding.. They said she may not make it through the night.. What am I supposed to do? What if we lose her. How will I live? She is everything to me...Thank you all so much for your prayers. I will let you know tomorrow how things go. Let's pray and pray! Love Mariel and my baby mitsy.. |

I'm still praying for your Misty. I hope there has been some improvement today. Hugs, |
 Mariel, I am so sorry about your baby, Mitsy. I hope that a great big hand from above comes and takes total care of her, and makes her all better. I know exactly what you are going through as I lost my little baby, Simba, on May 29, 2009, and he was 12-1/2 years old. Your little baby is so young. My prayers and tears are with you Mariel. This makes me very sad for you sweetie. Kaye Woodrum |

Aww, I'm so sorry to hear this. You did do everything you could, and most important you loved her. She had a wonderful family, and she isn't hurting anymore. RIP sweet one. |
Mariel, our thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. |
Bless you and your family. Nothing can replace the void a a beloved family member leaves in our hearts when they pass on. The pain will get easier with time and eventually you'll be able to think of her and smile. |
Mariel, I am so sorry that you had to go through this. You are very fortunate to have such a supportive family. It is so difficult, but just think how lucky you were to have her in your life even if for such a short time. You will always miss her, but it will get easier. Maybe soon you can get a new dog. Love from Emily |
Mariel, I am so very sorry! May your baby Mitsy rest in peace now. |
Sweetie, there are times when things are taken out of our hands and we have no contol over the outcome. This was one of those times. Lil Misty had a wonderful mommy, you have to know that. You and your parent's did all you could. Misty is once again happy and healthy at Rainbow bridge playing with all her new friends. I hope your broken heart heals soon and just remember you were the best mommy ever. Hugs, |
