Update I'm back home on my wii remote so please forgive my typos... Jake is back home with us but again, for the night only. The vet wants him back tomorrow for the day again on the IV fluids. Are you ready for this though? He is showing remarkable improvement!!! Still pretty weak and tired but is actually in my lap right now licking his paws!!! He still is not allowed any water or food and I feel horrible about this! He keeps licking his lips like he is sooo thirsty! We are just grateful that he is alive!! We both saw the light go out of his eyes yesterday morning and it scared us half to death because we have both seen that look before...but THANKFULLY he is getting stronger everyday. This is also a new vet for us and we are very impressed. Jake has certainly stolen his heart! Thanks again for all of your kind words, thoughts, prayers, and well wishes. It seems I've been on the “reader's side" for so long...one always fears and can never imagine being on “this side". YT is the best!!! |
So glad to hear he is doing better. Loved that he mustered all of his energy to sleep with his mom :D |
So happy to see that Jack is on the mend! Thank God! What a scare for you and your husband...i hope it will be over soon!:) |
so glad we do not have to use these here :( I hope you can find something more natural to help as i would be afraid to use this on him again :( |
So glad to hear that Jake is on the mend. It's a Godsend when we find a Vet we can trust and who truly loves our pets as we do! |
It nice to read Jake is doing well. Poor baby, licking his lips. Is it possible to let him lick an ice cube just to get moisture in his mouth? I hope he's home with you to stay real soon. Was it actually the Frontline that made him so sick? Keep up the good work Jake, we want you home where you belong. Hugs, |
Yay!!! I'm so glad to hear he is showing marked improvement! Hopefully, the vet will allow him to eat/drink something tonight when he is back at home. I know you feel so bad not being able to offer him any water when he appears thirsty, but it sounds like your vet knows what he is doing, and you trust him which is so important! I'll be checking back for another update later in the day. Fingers crossed he will be home for good after the vet today! Rory will be extra thrilled to hear the good news! :aimeeyork |
This is for you Rory...In sickness and in health... 1 Attachment(s) Quote:

Bless his sweet heart. My heart skipped a beat when I looked at him laying there. So sad to think that something that's suppose to protect them can make them so ill. Please get better with each new day Jake. We're praying for you. |
Aw, such a sleepy boy. Just breaks my heart to see them so mushy. Happy to hear he is doing better. I bet they shave both because they maybe switch the IV. I know it can't be in the same spot for a long time. My Trixie was in the hospital 3 weeks ago and she has both shaved also. Sometime they just need those fluids to flush out the body. Saying a prayer for your little guy. Hope this ends soon and he is back to his normal self. Poor thing!! |
So glad to hear he's doing better! |
