I order our shots from revival the Duramune brand. They only ship air and come in a cooler pack, I order extra ice and if the ice is melted they are returned. They are immediately refrigerated. I was giving anti nausea meds and injecting fluids to keep them hydrated. All that passed bled out in their last hour. I was giving pediasure 1/2 -1 ounce and hour then beef liver water 1/2- 1 ounce the next. They were also given a dab of nutri-cal anytime there gums were not as pink as they should be. |
Just wanted to say how sorry I am. I hope your last little one pulls thru! |
How devastating .I am so sorry for your loss . I hope Yoda can hang in there and survive all this :( many prayers are going out to your babies . |
Update I still have Yoda. He has firm poop today, and is very active. None of the other fur-babies are showing any signs. Keeping my fingers crossed that all goes well. Thank you everyone that has prayed for my babies. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers. I will continue to let everyone know how things are going here........... |
I am glad to see this last post..also keeping you in my prayers... such a stessful time.. I know first hand what losing babies is like.. extremely stressful... hugs.. anne |
Oh my! What a heartbreaking thread. I am holding out hope for you, Yoda, and your other litters. Sending you lots of hugs too. I have never dealt with Parvo so I am not much help-but it sounds horrendous. :( |
Update Good news: Yoda is still showing signs of improvement, still eating on his own and wanting to play. Poor baby cries and cries, I feel sorry that he has to be locked up all by himself. Bad news: The almost 6 week old pups are showing signs. I have started them on the antibiotic, and nausea meds. I my self became very nauseated this morning when I noticed loose stool and two of them vomiting. I just don't know if I can handle another round. And still one more litter. I will keep everyone updated. |

Just a question.. when you were dealing with the first litter with parvo, could you not have started the other litter on meds at the same time.. or is a process.. I had a yorkie that was 6 months old when I got her and she was to have all her shots.. but got parvo that spring ... she was at the vets for 6 days on a drip and made it, at a cost of 1,200. for the 6 days. I got her to the vets on the first sign.. her first bloody poop.. drive three hours to a vet I trusted.. it was hard.. and I am sure this is even harder on you.. My heart so is with you and I have not stopped thinking of you and the babies.. the stress of it all alone is devestating.. I keep praying for you in hopes our prayers will work... anne |
Parvo too Whatever happened? I have a 6 month old pup and she has parvo. I read your ad looking for hope. She has been in the hospital for two days now. I have other pups. They show no signs. I bleached everything but mostly I pray. |

my thoughts and prayers are with you and your litters!!! I can't imagine what you are going through..:( |
update This morning its all good news. Everyone is still with us. I have had three hours of sleep, didn't mean to but I think I needed it. I was very leary of opening the door to see what I would find, and though there was a mess for me to clean, all the babies are doing really good for the circumstances. Capri is the worst, but she is still up and moving. Chloe is the best, she hasn't shown too many signs that she isn't feeling well. Still growling at me for attention, Brodie is looking better today along with Malibu. They were playing, tuggin on each others ears. I refuse to get my hopes up, but am thinking I might make it with these guys. I know a have a long week ahead, and anything can change but, oh they are so cute, and such an improvement from yesterday morning. We are still having lose stools, but haven't seen any vomit after yesterday afternoon. I just gave some Pepto Bismol, and some liver water. Chloe and Brodie actually drank on their own!!!!, I am going to give some Nutri-Stat in an hour and push some fluids on Malibu for sure, and check the others for dehydration. |
You have gone thru so much. Wishing you well. |
Oh thank God for good news! :D I am still keeping all your babies and oyu in my thoughts and prayrs. You are doing an awsome job! :) |
Update Well Yoda has taken a turn today. He is not really bad but enough to get my emotions going. The second litter is still moving forward in a positive direction, with the exception of Chloe. She was the one that wasn't showing any signs, today she started having soft jelly stools. But everyone is still eating on their own and I am staying on top of the meds. |
Staying with you in prayers... |

Thank You Everyone It helps me so much to get on here and let it out. Wether it be good or bad news, just getting it out seems to keep me going. I appreciate the prayers that everyone is offering, and just the kind words. I haven't been much of a poster on here, and yet everyone has been so kind. Thank you everyone. Truly, thank you. If not for this forum I am not sure that I would have any sanity left. The vet has been wonderful, he even called me today to see how things were going. He is very blunt, yet compassionate at the same time. Just a wonderful doctor. I think I have finally found on that I have faith in. |
Update All are still holding on. Capri is the worst, having trouble keeping her from vomiting. Force feeding everyone today including Yoda. But the gums are staying pink, and they are moving around a little. Sometimes biting each other. Started injecting fluids into Capri, and adding 1 cc of pediasure every time she vomits to her normal feeding schedule. |
You poor thing. My heart goes out to you.....Hope everything keeps going well. |
Update This morning everyone was doing okay. I gave Capri a bath,(she really, really needed it) and held her for about an hour all wrapped up to make sure that she stayed nice and cozy warm while she was drying. She looked so cute, I kept thinking I need to take a picture of her all bundled up, and share with you all. Around 5:30 I decided to lay down, I slept till 9 and jumped up to check on everyone. Every one seemed fine, didn't even have any big messes to clean up. Thought to myself wow, it's going to be a good day. So I went in to grab all the meds and feeding supplies, and bleach water, etc.... I get the pads and floor cleaned up, start talking to the babies, and Capri is all curled up in the back. I think her heart may have just given out. Her eyes were wide open and not glazed over like the others that I lost........I am so devastated. I had convinced myself that I was going to be able to save these guys, they were doing much better that the first litter. I hurt so much, I just keep seeing her sweet little face....why didn't I take that picture????? Poor sweet baby, she fought so hard, she was never really down she would still move around, I can't take this.....:unlove::cry8: |
OMG! I am so so sorry! You have have more than your fair share and I am praying so hard that this will all stop for you and these poor babies. My love, hugs and prayers for you all... |
fort dodge and silent pravo omg I should of posted this on here before there is a new stain of Parvo that is resistant to Fort dodge shots .. I am so sorry for your loss My good friend lost her whippet puppie to a new silent strain of parvo it sounds like the strain your talking about ..there are no signs of the parvo attack except the day before slightly loose stool and then the next day near death ... this parvo attack took a vet tec of 20 year by suprise she has been showing and breeding just as long too. the same silent parvo took my friends pom kennel like wild fire she lost two litters to this strain .. but the fort dodge shots do not protect your babies from this strain of parvo |
OMG-I am so sorry about the loss of Capri. I am so sorry that you are going thru this. Sending you lots of strength, hug, prayers....... Hang in there! :( |
Oh, dear heaven. This is one of the saddest things I\'ve ever read. :( I\'m so sorry, Jacqulyn. I can\'t begin to tell you how much I admire your courage and tenacity. You\'re amazing. |
I am so sorry. Heartfelt sympathy going out to you and your babies. I am in tears for your loss . You are doing everything you can and trying so hard with these little babies. How tragic. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your babies. |
Sending love and prayers to you! I keep checking in and sending you best wishes! I am so sorry that this happening, you are going to be stronger because of this, and be able to share your knowledge and compassion with others going through this. Best of luck, I hope to see some good news soon! |
