| Swollen Toe very scared...Please help!!! Hello, i'm a little worried. My 1 year old Rex got his foot stuck underneath an elevator door. The elevator doors that swing open. I immidiately grabbed the door but the damage was done. One of his nails is swollen on the side and he wont walk on that foot. We dont think any bones were broken but his finger is swollen. Show we take him to the vet or is there a cream that can help him? |

| I would go to the vet. Don't want to take a chance. Maybe an x-ray is in order. Especially if it is swollen and he won't walk on it. Please let us know how he is. Good luck!

| He needs to be seen by a vet. Without x-rays, there is no way to tell if he broke any bones. Not treating an injury like this right away can lead to more serious problems later on. |

| I completely agree....infections could set in and your little one could lose a foot.

| Hi everyone, thank you so much for your replies. So we just got back from the Vet. He had a small fracture nothing major. They did a small Splint which he has to wear for a month. Now my other question is, she told us we HAVE to go every week so they can change the spint. Is that really nessasary? Can we do it ourselves? |
