How is little Lucy this morning? |
Lucy is doing Great Lucy is doing well, however, I will not be using this blog again. For all of you mean people: I will just call the vet next time. For all of you nice people: Lucy is doing great. She is playing with her cousin max (a Maltese) just like normal this morning. Thanks for all your concerns and prayers. I stayed up with her last night and we checked on her almost every hour. She is back to her normal puppy dog self :) |
I am so glad to hear she is doing better. Please don't leave YT. There are a lot of wonderful and caring people here. Sometimes things go a little overboard and sometimes that is because we all worry so much about these fragile little beings. There are so many horror stories about accidents and the outcomes of them. |

I know you felt attacked but it was surely out of concern for you and your new puppy.. Its hard to understand what people are trying to say and determine what tone it is in when you are reading.. Im honestly sure most people had your and your puppies best interest at heart. Im so happy that little Lucy is okay and playing today... Have a great Memorial Day weekend :D I hope to hear from you again... |
Some of these posts were uncalled for and personally I don't blame them for not coming back. One bad apple can ruin the batch.:thumbdown |

Oh hun I am so happy to hear that Lucy is doing good today. That is super good. I surely wish you don't run off because of what people say. Sometimes you have to weed out the ones that bother you and just ignore it. ANd take in the great info you can collect. Just know we all love these babies and we know you do also. Some just show the way they care in a different way. Again I am so happy that Lucy is doing well please give her a gentle belly rub from Babybear and I. And have a great rest of your holiday weekend. |

I'm so glad your little Lucy is okay. :):):) I feel the need to say something about chatboards, just in case you are new to them. I've posted on various online boards for 11 years. Just like in real life speech, there are many different posting styles. Some people think carefully and analytically before they post...and, as you can see, some don't. Personally, I'm one of the latter. Sometimes I get emotional and post passionately...then regret it later and need to apologize. I think what you saw here was shock, horror and fear for your Lucy's well being...not meanness. Truely. :) My advice to you would be to never leave a valuable board like this one, just because of one incident. I promise you...there is no such thing as a perfect board, filled with perfect posters. Even though I am relatively new here, I can see this is a wonderful board for Yorkie lovers. (Or special little muttlets like my Zoey ;).) Please stay and benefit from all the caring and help this board has to offer. You won't be sorry. |
I am going to have to speak up here. I am usually a very supportive poster. What I said in my post was for a reason. I did NOT belittle the OP! I did NOT BLAME the OP! I did NOT swear at ther OP! BUT I was very frustrated to see that the OP herself described it as a 200 lb man STEPPING on her 3# yorkie and in my opinion that is a MAJOR emergency. If it WASN'T as bad as she made it out to be, why the heck couldn't she have posted again and said so???? Instead she stayed LOGGED into YT (obviously NOT looking for an ER vet) and read all the concerned posts but chose not to answer. Then to come on here again this morning to let us all know that she did NOT follow any of the advice of anyone here and miraculously the yorkie who was "STEPPED ON" (as opposed to kicked or maybe a stepped on toe) is perfectly fine. I can say with absolute certainty that if a 3 lb yorkie was STEPPED on in the manner she first posted it would NOT be perfectly fine this morning. I think the OP has to take some responsibility for posting her original post to sound obviously so much worse than it was. And if it was NOT as bad as she thought, she obviously knew that very shortly after since she decided it wasn't bad enough to go to the vet. A whole lot of hurt feelings could have been avoided if she only had posted again that it wasn't as bad as she thought. She was already logged into YT, reading the responses, so why not put every one at ease by letting us know that it wasnt actually STEPPED ON in the manner she first led us to believe. Sorry, but under those circumstances, I am going to stand by what I originally said. |
so relieved I'm so relieved that little Lucy is OK......I also left a message on your profile page......please know there are many, many people here that care about you and care about Lucy....I'm so sorry that things may have been said last night that hurt you, worried you, angered you......I know I probably would have felt the same. I just want to say that most definately the good out weighs the bad, and I know you will make some very good friends here....if you stay:aimeeyork:animal-pa |

I think even the most novice Yorkie-owner would know to rush a 3 pound puppy to an emergency vet if a 300 pound man stepped on it's head or full body. I don't think they would be asking for advice. I figured when I read it it must have been one of those missteps that are so common with little yorkies who like to be right where our feet are going next. Hurtful, maybe, but we usually catch outselves before full weight falls on our little ones. I think we need to give people credit for a little intelligence! I am sure if it was a full contact, full weight impact, the OP would have already been at the vet. To cuss at her in such a disrespectful tone was totally uncalled for. Who can blame her for not coming back. I hope she does, in spite of the way she was treated. There are a LOT of members here and not all are going to start "yelling profanity" at the drop of a hat. It is almost like that poster thought she was the only one smart enough to know how serious a full contact step could be. Very insulting and demeaning! |
I am pretty sure that when I posted my original post I just asked for symptoms to look for. I figured this was a place where people know more than I do and know what signs yorkies show when they are hurt or sick. Thank you to all of your wonderful nice people :) I appreciate your support. We have never owned a dog before so this is all very new to us. We do have a family member who is a vet tech who answers all of our questions. We aren't dumb, and its not like she couldn't walk in a straight line. we were just concerned. Thanks again for your help p.s. i left my computer open and online. I didn't realize that people could see I was online so I left it open so I could check responses every once in a while. I am not relying on this blog for all of my questions- I just wanted to hear from someone who was experienced to see what they thought. |
